I wrote a book, it’s called The Trouble with Runaways and it’s a queer historical fiction novel about Simon, a 17 year old trans man living in New York during the 1930’s. He leaves home, moves in with his gay uncles, and joins the circus. He falls in love with a boy named Emmett, an up and coming drag queen from Harlem, engaging in the ballroom community. While Simon himself is not a performer himself, he’s happy to support as a stage hand or audience member for those he loves.

No gay characters were buried in the writing of this book.

I am an indie author but my work has been reviewed by a professional editor and read twice by a sensitivity reader.

i get asked fairly often what my opinion on k9 units is and this might surprise people, but i actually don't really like to talk about the animal welfare concerns surrounding k9 units (and MWDs as well, but i get asked about those less often)

i think dwelling on the animal welfare aspect of it sort of distracts from the main issue, which is that these animals are being used as living weapons against marginalized people (predominantly black people) and even if they were treated like royalty I'd still want them abolished altogether

and also i think it's insulting to the people getting savaged by these animals for us to quibble about whether or not the poor heckin pupperino is being abused
