I wrote a fic! You can find the link right here
Synopsis:
Lawrence, Kansas, July, 1965 Dean Winchester is still living with his parents at age 24. He works at his father’s garage and doesn’t have a girlfriend yet. Add to that his younger brother Sam’s recent engagement, and Dean feels like he’s the black sheep of the family. However, he meets Castiel Novak, a 31-year-old man who has just moved to Lawrence, Kansas. A friendship blossoms between them during the summer and winter of 1965—a friendship that quickly turns into a deep and powerful love. Dean’s life changes completely when he decides to enlist in the U.S. Army and is deployed to Vietnam. There, he’ll meet people who will shape his character and haunt him for the rest of his life. We’ll be following Dean and Castiel over the course of nearly 25 years, in a story that will put their very lives and their bond to the test. It is a story of friendship, love, struggle, and conviction.
This story promises to be quite long, and I hope that I'll be able to finish it! We are going to follow Dean and Cas throughout several decades. I plan to write until the 80s-90s, so when the story ends, Cas will be in his late forties-early fifties, and Dean in his early forties. Most of the story is already planned, but a lot of elements are still a work in progress. I hope you will enjoy reading it, as much as I enjoy writing it! Il also want to make more art for it! So stay tunned!
Sam is his mother's son. Dean is a momma's boy. Hope that clears everything up.

Destiel as Spleen et ideal, based on this post by @universalcas 💙

but what if like. what if dean and cas figure out so much about themselves through just like exploring what they like to do to each other and what they like to receive. what if they figured themselves out through sex and it wasn't ever just sex it was a bunch of painful truths all wrapped up in every single touch or kiss or fuck they experimented with. and then what if after figuring all that stuff out and getting ever closer the world keeps trying to rip them apart and it's just that much worse knowing what they COULD have but also not because they haven't talked about their feelings yet, they're finding physical freedom in each other but not the metaphysical. what about that!!!!
WORSE YET this is still chuck's universe and this isn't what he wrote!! these gays are going off the rails and he can't control them so he's just gonna throw worse shit at them!! and they defeat him anyway!!
anyway that's the eventual goal of this story

so let's hope i can figure it out lol
There aren't enough people who hates the angels on Castiel's behalf.
he ain't listening
Poniel
based on @demetriustheangel 's design
Season 4 Destiel is mostly horror to me, because angels are horror and Dean is a pawn for Heaven and reaching for him in Hell wasn't a rescue but a campaign and Jimmy is trapped in his own body the whole time and until the very last moment Castiel might work FOR the Apocalypse…
But I also look at it the other way and do you ever feel your heart breaks a little because this is the first time in Castiel's life that everything is not about horror? There is a person, right here, who might understand him, who won't betray him for or against Heaven. A person who listens to his opinions and argues with him and protects him even when they disagree. A person who ends up pointing at Castiel's very own doubts and tells him to be true to himself.
The thing is that Sam/Ruby is such a beautiful example of a toxic, abusive relationship but it gets ignored because of the "demon blood"
She manipulates him the entire time. She isolates him from his friends and family and makes him dependent on her. Then she reinforces the isolation every time he starts moving away from her by saying all these horrible things to him about how if he lets himself be controlled by someone (Dean) he's weak for doing so and that only by staying with her can he make himself strong and all the while she is undermining him.
If we focused less on the "drug addict" aspect of Sam's S4 storyline and more on the "he was the victim of domestic abuse" I think more people would be sympathetic to that arc.
(That being said, Sam absolutely killed human people in his pursuit of his blood addiction and he should have to take responsibility for those actions even though he was manipulated into starting down that path)

Doing this thing
The thing abt john winchester is that he is too complex for the majority of the spn fandom and for a good portion of the writers on the show too.
Because at his core john is about love over everything else. When he looks up at his sons (yes, up, the fact that they’re both taller than him>>>>>), there is love seeping achingly from every single pore of his being even as he abuses them, as he destroys their souls beyond belief. He does it all entirely out of love. And he is so, so wrong for it. A part of him knows it. But he wants to keep dean alive, and he wants to keep Sam pure. And he loves them so much. And he damages them so horribly. John Winchester is the foundation upon which they are both built, they only become more of what he made them as the series goes on. Sam stops fighting it, Dean continues to mold into his image no matter how hard he tries to fight it.
Hell puts them both on steroids, but their individual trauma responses that influence this are the foundations that John built into them. No wonder azazel wanted sam to win so badly. John Winchester crafted his sons into alastair and Lucifer’s ideal victims, respectively, and dean was a better (worse) john than John ever was. John held out in hell. Dean acquiesced to his abuser despite all of his efforts to fight him, and he’s never been the same since.
Sam fought like hell, and he fought destiny, but at his core, he did what John always wanted him to by doing what dean wanted him to do, and then he stops fighting at all, loses the fire he showed john in adolescence that john immediately notices when he returns in s14.
And the sad thing is. They filled their roles so well that John is saddened by what they’ve become. He didn’t want dean to break. He didn’t want Sam to be dimmed. He’s sad to see what Sam is like in s14. In the process of recovering his wife, he ensured he would mold his sons into what he wanted them to be, and when he got what he wanted, he was devastated.
John Winchester is so driven by love and grief and he’s so filled to the brim with both that it’s painful to watch him on screen because he destroyed his family because of it. And he wanted this all along but he didn’t realize what he’d have to give up to get it.
