I just looked up "deltarune" to reblog like art or something, and then immediately remembered spoilers are a thing LOL I feel torn rn between playing through all 5 chapters myself, or waiting until Penny Snapcube herself will probably play through it? Because getting to hear her voice acting while experiencing chapters 3 & 4 for the first time was just phenomenal & hilarious But at the same time, I can already feel that there will be people on her ass to play it immediately- and I don't remotely wanna be apart of that. So maybe I'll just focus on all my hours at work over this next week and then decide lol

both very funny and awfully frustrating that people will be like “just because this character is aromantic doesn’t mean they can’t be romance-favourable / in a romantic relationship 🥺” and then the character in question is canonically like “i hate romance so much it’s unreal”

i say this as someone who’s aro and as romance-favourable as they come btw. like if you’re not aro and are absolutely dead set on shipping aro characters, fine i guess. can’t really stop you. but somehow ppl are always doing it to the ones who are like “i despise romantic advances from all genders. the idea of being in a relationship with someone makes me genuinely sick. if anyone flirts with me, i WILL kill myself” like come on man 😭

This is so real & important to me Because look, I love seeing a great romance as much as the next person!! But when a character repeatedly shows that romantic pursuits would fully go against their identity, one of which is a minority, I can't help but get a little uncomfortable on why that aspect is being ignored. I can't do anything about it so I go about my day, but it can feel equivalent to watching someone pair a canonical lesbian with a straight man. I raise my eyebrow a little bit Different situation, but I feel the exact same way for asexual characters, too! 'Cause here's the thing- both aro & ace identities exist on spectrums. And there can be so many interesting dynamics to portray when consideration is given to how that specific character is depicted to experience their identity. Nuance helps to deepen dynamics, not weaken them!

As someone on the aro-ace spectrum & it being Pride Month, I truly do encourage people to take it as a challenge to look at love without any romance or sex. Find all those small things that make a deep connection so meaningful & hold them close, whether it is in characters you enjoy or otherwise. I promise it will only serve as a benefit in making any deeper connections as a whole feel even more impactful.

the place I work at remodeled these split gendered restrooms into “inclusive restrooms” and never told us what they meant while construction was ongoing. I need you to know every atom of potential criticism or whining that could’ve happened disappeared when people found out this meant we got 10 fully separate private bathrooms with sinks inside. Because unless I'm going crazy & it was in fact mentioned, I think Jay straight up does not know her uncle was the only one left behind. The one family member she has been able to actively confine in throughout their journey & discuss her family with as a fellow Ferin, who also chose to pursue the freedom of being a pirate at the cost of almost all, if not completely all, family ties. And no one has told her.

I've been thinking about actually using this account to re-enter fandom spaces lately I've never been a tumblr user & I also haven't shared my art consistently in close to 5 years at this point- most of it just sits in my procreate app or google docs for my own enjoyment- which, don't get me wrong, is still great!! But as I go on things like tumblr & just scroll through tags, and I see so much art that makes me laugh, or smile, or feel something, I keep wanting to give something back A lot of what I'd post initially would probably just be an archive of a bunch of work I've made- likely with a title & a date attached. I still gotta think it over, but maybe!
