Bucky vs Pants

JUST IMAGINE:

Bucky loves his sweatpants. Absolutely loves them. They’re the perfect fit, light grey, and not constricting. He would wear them everyday if he could, but he knew that Steve got temperamental when he does. So once every few days he would change into a different pair of sweatpants (often blue, smaller, and they didn’t fit the same.), and wait anxiously for his favorites to be done in the wash.

One day, Bucky pulls his sweatpants back on and wears them around the house, his thighs starting to burn. When he goes to the restroom, he sees that there are huge holes in the thighs where they rubbed together. Buck proceeds to throw a tantrum for the rest of the day, going on about how future fabric isn’t as nice as oldy fabric and how he curses whoever decided it was a good idea to change materials.

Bucky had been in a snit for hours, his favorite sweats - the post mission ones that were soft and fit just right - had spotted holes from where his thighs had rubbed the fabric clean through. They’d had to be tossed, or recycled into rags, Bucky knew that, but he hated it. It was silly, but the sweats had been one of the first things that were his, then one of the first ways he’d learned to cope after missions - soft sweats, after a bath? He still owed Natalia for that tip - and now they were done for. Bucky was going to have to find new sweats, sweats he’d have to break in and he, well, hated that. Bucky hated change in general, something Steve knew, but his best friend, lover, everything, really, was ignoring him.

Half the reason for the snit, of he was being honest with himself, which he wasn’t yet.

When the loud music shut off and Steve opened the door to his office, Bucky was upset enough he didn’t turn around. Not until something fluttered over his shoulder and draped over his chest. Looking down, both Bucky’s brows drew together as he found his sweats - the sweats - draped over his shoulder.

Scowling fiercely, Bucky sat up and inspected the sweats. He knew Steve, knew he wouldn’t have fished them out of the trash and made Bucky face their loss again without reason. It was easy to find. Someone had patched the holes. The fabric between the thighs was darker, but in a few washes Bucky didn’t think it would be noticable.

Standing, he yanked off his blue sweats and hopped into his favorites. The new fabric was softer than the old, new, but the same blend of weird shit they put in clothes these days. He wiggled, rubbed his thighs together, and then turned and dove over the couch. Catching Bucky drove the smug look off Steve’s face, but kissing him kept it gone.

“I love you,” Bucky declared between kisses, backing Steve toward their bedroom. “Where the hell did you learn to sew?”

“Dernier,” Steve admitted, laughing, breathless and happy.

“God bless the French,” Bucky said, shoving Steve onto the bed.

I have my own lil hc about hatchlings (or demons in general, but it's most prominent in hatchlings/young demons). Whenever intimidated or angry, their tails will bristle up like a kittens, and they'll get on all fours, ready to swipe at anything and everything.
