Sorry about the lack of updates, but all our little crabbies have been hiding more than not. Little Mr Flash finally came up from his first molt with us. His new claw is bright red with white tips and he’s still fast as hell! Welcome back Flash!

Dilemma.

So, we at Green House Crab Rescue are more than happy to rescue little claw babies in need, but today we get a message from a woman about 2 hours away, that she has 11 crabs she no longer wants. We have 6 currently, so that would make our total 17. That's a lot of crab. Our 55 gallon tank would be super crowded if we did, and we would possibly need another tank because our 10 gallon iso would not be enough.

Help me crab parents! Help!

This odd looking caterpillar was found. This is a Spicebush Swallowtail caterpillar in one of it’s later morphs. The orange-ish horn that pokes out in the gif releases a pretty awful smell and the color/smell combination is used to scare predators away.

Today was Flash’s first day in the 55g tank. He ran around like crazy for an hour before I went to bed last night, and today when I got off work, he was gone but there’s a big lump of substrate under a piece of cork. Hopefully he went down for a molt and gets his big claw back.
