DIY Oil Lamp Tutorial from A Piece of Rainbow.
The post title for this DIY Oil Lamp is “Magical Mason Jar Oil Lamp” because all you need are decorative items, glass bottles, the right type of wick (click on link to the original source), and 1 tablespoon of oil.
The magic part is that 1 Tablespoon of oil will last 2 hours.
Hi there, my name is Ivy and I am a chronically ill practitioner of modern Witchcraft. Because of my various illnesses, I am unable to work a typical job. I work odd jobs to help support my family, but it is never enough. I am always looking for new and creative ways to help make my life, and the...
Here it is guys! Please share and reblog in your various places!
This is what is included in each of the kits I have created so far
Would some of these items not get through customs?
Everything on the list is approved for international shipping, the feathers are the only item that may get confiscated, but its doubtful.
Will herbs and stones be labelled?
YES THEY WILL BECAUSE IT BUGS ME TO GET THINGS AND NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE!!!!
Herbs and any other plant or animal based product cannot be sent to places like Australia. The package will be destroyed! Feathers also need to be identified by species for some countries. Matchbooks also cannot be sent internationally if it’s going by air. Your package will be destroyed. And as long as the knife isn’t a folding knife, it should be safe to send in MOST countries.
(I posted this seperately also) In all honesty I completely forgot about Australias strict laws on plant materials. I have sent salves in the past, but the herbs were processed to the point they couldnt contaminate local eco systems.
If for some reason I cannot ship certain items within a particular package, I will replace them with approved items for that region
The knife will be a culinary knife, most likely a paring knife.
Hey guys! Please consider donating $5! You will receive a special gift and you can help me meet my startup goal!!!
Stormbornwitch’s Cleansing Chalk
This cleansing chalk is designed to cleanse items or a space. It can also be used to draw sigils. To make this cleansing chalk you will need:
5 eggshells
1 tbs dried sage
7 drops of sage essential oil
1 tbs of rock salk
Dry and crush the eggshells with a mortar and pestle. When finely ground into a powder add the sage essential oil. Now add dried sage and ground until a fine powder (if you like you can use pre-ground sage). Once completely ground, add the rock salt and crush into a fine powder.
Add the cleansing powder into a bowl (Measure how much you have first). Now add the same amount of plain white flour to the bowl. Now slowly add water until it becomes a dough-like consistency. Roll the dough into four long pieces of chalk. Now to dry the chalk you can either leave the chalk to air-dry or you can pop them in a fan-forced oven for half an hour.

How to make a Scrying “crystal ball”
What you will need:
A small fish bowl type glass bowl. As round as you can find
Example :
Black paint (may need to use glass paint)
Paint brush
A base (optional)
With your black paint. Paint the inside of your glass until you can no longer see through it. It may take a few coats. Let fully dry.
Once dry flip over so that the opening is on the bottom. You can then attach it to a wooden or stone base with glue or just leave it.
Use the dark reflective surface to scry. Don’t know how? This video may be helpful
If you try this let me know how it works out!

My hair’s too short to clip and use without it being noticeable. Anyone think nail clippings would work?
what about armpit hair? it’s still hair, it could work.
If you click on the link under the pictures, you’ll find that I mention that the hair could be swapped out for any other item that links your DNA to the poppet. Please read the article! It has way more information than the pictures can provide.

DIY Magical Shower Disks
So you have seen our lovely bath magic spells but you cannot take a bath. Maybe you don’t have a bath in your current residence, maybe you are physically unable to use bathtubs, maybe you’re just super stretched for time but want to get in some extra magical umph. Recreational Witchcraft is here for you.
Shower disks are traditionally used in the aromatherapy world to relieve congestion and other flu-symptoms while showering via the use of essential oils, but we will be bumping up their magical potential.
Basic recipe:
1 cup baking soda
1 tablespoon corn starch
1/3 cup of water
Muffin tins and muffin liners
Combine baking soda and corn starch (making sure there are no clumps), then slowly add in the water. Fill lined muffin tins about third of the way, then leave out for 24 hours to dry completely. Carefully take them out of the liners, add your essential oils, and place your disk somewhere in your shower that will allow them to dissolve slowly while you do your business. Bam. You’re done.
Now onto the magic. All dry ingredients (herbs, spices, etc) should be added in with the baking soda and corn starch before the water is added. All essential oils should be added right before they’re used (so when they’re completely dry).
Cleansing and Purifying:
essential oil of rosemary
essential oil of lemongrass
dried peppermint leaves
dried lemon rinds
dried rosemary
Protection:
essential oil of lavender
essential oil of eucalyptus
dried basil leaves
dried lavender flowers
pinch of ground cloves
Glamour:
essential oil of sweet orange
essential oil of rose
essential oil of jasmine
crushed red rose petals
pinch of (body safe) glitter
Attracting Love:
vanilla extract
essential oil of jasmine
essential oil of ylang ylang
apple seeds
1 lavender flower
pinch of cinnamon
Attracting Money:
essential oil of patchouli
essential oil of juniper berry
dried mint leaves
dried thyme
pinch of allspice
How To: Make Ink from Berries
Although I have a guide on how to make Poke Berry ink already, I wanted to make a separate guide on using other types of berries that are common food berries, such as blueberries and strawberries, as opposed to the poisonous pokeberries that only show up in the late summer/early fall months. The steps are a little less intense than making pokeberry ink, and the materials here do not have to be thrown away or discarded afterwards, making these berries a safer and more friendly way to make berry inks that can be made year round.
When using a food berry, it is important to make sure these berries are ripe or over ripe (rotten berries can be used for inks as long as they have not started to grow mold). Under ripe berries produce a poor and light ink, so the more ripe, the better. Do not use hard berries such as juniper berries for making ink.
Materials:
A medium cooking pot (aluminum or stainless steel, do not use non-stick pots)
Multiple glass mixing bowls
Wooden spoon
Potato masher
Muslin/Cheese Cloth
Mesh strainer
Rubber gloves
White Vinegar (to preserve the ink)
Salt
Glass storage container
Optional: Gum Arabic

Re wicking and recycling one of my favorite candles.
its super easy and quick. all you need is a piece of cotton string. the metal piece to hold the wick
(i save mine from old tea lights, i then just remove the old wick and poke a new wick through the little metal thing)
once you have this you just tie the wick to something not flammable so it stays in place.
now that your all set up you just stick it on the stove top until it all melts.
then you just turn off the heat and let it sit until the wax is solidified and the container is no longer to hot to touch.
now you have a new candle from one of your old one.
if you are doing this with a glass candle bring up the heat slowly so that the glass doesn’t shatter or break.
also this is a great way to customize store bought basic candles. that way if you need a fancy candle you can make it rather than spend money on something that is expensive and your only going to use once. once the wax is liquified you can add ground up herbs, scents or resins. and once its solid if you have any unused crayons or candles you can drip the wax onto for added decoration
