some first red flags about the Pitt’s “realism” were all the way back in season 1. Remember when Santos threatened that father who may or may not have been molesting his kid? Remember when Robby REFUSED to report or investigate??
Yeah well there was a lot of (rightful) criticism around that scene. Doctors spoke up and said that you only need a suspicion to report something for CPS to VISIT. This doesn’t go on some kind of record for the parent and it’s weird that Robby would be so hesitant. Especially with a child’s mental and physical health on the line.
Then, knowing the child will be living exclusively with her father now that her mother’s imprisoned, I found the Santos scene odd. Threatening the abuser will most likely lead to him punishing the victim for speaking out. I know the show was trying to show how badass Santos is (and she is) and give insight into her backstory, BUT I’m not really a fan of sexual assault storylines being used to advance the story-arcs of others, or show how gold-hearted they are, when doing so just brings more risk to the actual victim.
AND THEN the worst thing is that they did it again. In season 2. Robby said the same thing, that they wouldn’t report. They could have totally reported.
I remember reading about how concerned ppl were abt this. They said there shouldn’t be misinformation about these types of procedures and they’re right. There shouldn’t be.
Realism, or something being “realistic,” is a narrative tool. Nothing can ever be fully realistic in story telling. The point is to give the impression that it is and that’s where the art lies.
So while child abuse happens and even false allegations happen, I found the way the show handled it to be unrealistic for actual scenarios. It was pretty obviously story driven.
But now, when they say that Samira Mohan leaving is just “realistic” for a hospital is SUCH obvious crap. Sirs you are writing this story. There is intention behind everything. Don’t pretend that this hospital is real and Gloria came down with her clipboard in the writer’s room and said: “You know we need to make some cuts. Let’s start with Samira. Randomly cut all her scenes.”
No one’s forcing anyone’s hand. So I’m just wondering like what happened? Why was she cut? They’re back peddling on all their answers so that’s super promising lol.
still living with my parents as an adult is just like. i'm grateful to not have to pay for groceries. i have to get out of here. i'm grateful to have a roof over my head and not have to pay rent. i have to get out of here. i'm grateful to not have to worry about sending out endless job applications that all lead to nowhere. i have to get out of here. i'm grateful i'm grateful i'm so fucking grateful. i have to get out of here

The writers have been sprinkling in hints throughout the season that Langdon isn't fully accepting responsibility for the harm he caused. Him getting upset and accusing Robby of punishing him when he was put in triage after not working for 10 months. Lying to Mel about "It never affected my work", despite him stealing and diluting medication necessary for patient care. The way he was told multiple times by two separate people that trying to talk to Robby would just upset him. Santos making it obvious that she doesn't want to interact with him, but he kept trying to force his way back into a teaching role. His sarcastic and condescending remarks during the teaching case. And then the half-lie he gave Al-Hashimi about "Well I was kinda an asshole to her once :(", instead of "She caught me stealing drugs and I tried to get her fired".
The writers were never going to get us the sickly sweet moment where Langdon thanks Santos for saving him from addiction.
THE PITT 2x11 5:00PM
mel is embarrassed that she has a crush on frank and she’s embarrassed that he’s Married and she’s just embarrassed she never considered her sister might have a boyfriend and she’s embarrassed she’s never had a romantic relationship
canon kingdon angsty ambulance bay scene where mel speaks to frank about not having romance in her life. i just did one billion trillion lines of kingdon cocaine
someday langdon will have a neurodivergent patient who prefers the lights on and he won't know what to do with himself
langdon doing the light trick when his kids get overwhelmed in the middle of a tantrum but they just cry harder bc they're afraid of the dark or something
trinity santos is a study in fandom misogyny because they gave her all the characteristics fandoms usually salivate for in men, being gruff, quippy and misunderstood with a tragic backstory but a heart of gold beneath it all. they put all this into her AND let her be a lesbian. she's everything you could ever want in a character but she's not a man so half the fandom either hates her or constantly mischaracterizes her as petty, callous and aggressive while doing mental gymnastics to baby the male characters around her
that's her cookie
violet’s entire emotional depth being tied to edmund kills me every season.
stop trying to make jacob elordi happen
