when you’re dating your crush but he knows you as this marmora01 guy he met in an online game and the longer it goes on the harder it gets to tell him (aka summary of my au fjksd)

Simon & Baz are definitely my two comfort characters. Everytime I open one of the books and reread some of my favorite parts of their story I fall a little more in love with them (someday I might explode because I can‘t stand all those feelings)😭❤️
I hope one day @rainbowrowell will announce that she‘s working on a fourth book …and in the meantime I‘ll continue to make fanart of Simon & Baz 🐉🧁🧛🏻♀️
(If you‘re on goodreads don’t forget to vote for AWTWB!)
…Simon has some sort of scythe. He looks like the grim reaper. Drenched in blood, his T-shirt as red as his wings. One of his wings is drooping, I don’t think he can fly. He doesn’t really need to. Unarmed, untrained vampires aren’t much of a match for Simon with a blade - any blade will do…

A repost of a repost but I had to see this so you do too.
You ever think about how old people have no idea what “survivor bias” is, and take full credit for being excellent out of things where they lucked out?
“Back in my day we didn’t have any of these childhood protective things, we were smart enough not to do stupid shit on our own!” Except your little neighbour, who got the funniest idea at the age of seven, and got his skull pierced when he slipped?
“Back in my day nobody got divorced, we stuck together and fixed our problems!” What about your cousin, who was slowly killed by her husband because she had nowhere to escape him?
“Back in my day nobody had ‘mental problems’, we didn’t whine, we just toughed it out and endured life!” Hey remember that guy you used to work with, who seemed really friendly and normal, and then suddenly hanged himself ‘for no reason’?
“Back in my day we didn’t have any of this ‘gay’ or ‘transgender’ thing.” You did, but your family cut all ties with her before you were born.
You kinda start seeing it in everything they think, if you start looking for it.
“When we were kids nobody whined about car seats or bike helmets. We didn’t use them, and we all survived!”
Yeah, except for the ones who didn’t.
I have had this exact fucking argument with my mom.
“Back then we didn’t have all these medications and vaccines…”
No, and my grandmother had lost both her parents to disease at the age of eight.
When reading fanfic keep in mind that for professional literature:
Short story: under 7,500
Novelette: between 7,500 and 17,500
Novella: between 17,500 and 40,000
Novel: over 40,000
Fics over 40k are literally a novel written and shared for free. If you have written a 40k+ fic, you have literally written a novel.
the trans male experience is being afraid that if you wash your hands in a public men's restroom you will be clocked
one time I went in the men's room at a bar, got clocked and told I needed to leave so later I walked up to that dude at a table with some chick and announced to her that He Doesn't Wash His Hands After Handling His Dick and walked away
you are quite literally braver than any U.S. marine
Image description: a series of tweets from Randi Jo Dalton, reading,
“As a Mohawk librarian, when I defend audiobooks, it's personal. My people were telling stories orally long before stories came packaged in book form. There are many ways to 'ready' something. There are a thousand ways to tell a story.
When I assist a patron, I'm not helping them find the right book, I'm helping them find the right story. Whether it's a book or a movie or a comic or a video game—there is a reason that specific medium calls to you. There is no shame in the way your brain receives information.
The settler-colonial belief that stories in book form are superior is classist, racist, and simply untrue. It is virtue-signaling at its cringiest. Anyone who has a favorite voice actor will back me up. Alternative story telling methods make for rich sensory experiences.
A good story is all in how it unfolds. And how it unfolds is different for different folks. You have a unique perspective. Lean into it.
It's absolutely ableist as well. My patrons are blind, visually impaired, have physical and learning differences that make traditional print all but impossible to read, and, to a person, audiobooks are an incredibly vital part of their lives.
Also! Audiobooks are not a new thing. As early as 1931, the American Foundation for the Blind began creating 'talking books' for veterans of World War I and other visually-impaired people. Commercially, audiobooks began being produced and sold in the 50s.“
he hasn't even been cast. it's a proactive petition. the people have simply had enough. incredible.

I was on a bus once when this guy tapped my knee and pointed out that we were the only two people not looking at their phones and then asked what I was thinking about.
sometimes when I’m having a bad day I relive the moment I saw the his manic pixi dream girl hopes draining from his eyes and fill up with confusion and boredom as I explained to him I was thinking about which Rupaul’s Drag Race challenges Frank n Furter would preform best in and locked him into the conversation until it was my stop
