There was this novela about cowboys that my parents used to watch ,and the guy that I imagined as knuckles died in a horrible , horrible way
Anything can be Sonic if you imagine.
When there was no sonic movie I had to make my own sonic movie. Good times.
Talking about Archie...
Do you still like them or do you prefer IDW now?
If we're talking about both series as a whole, I mean, obviously the IDW comics have a better batting average. Archie has some very low lows. If we're talking Flynn era Archie vs. IDW... I don't know, I think I like both of them similarly, but for different reasons.
I think it's kind of a fool's errand to directly compare them too much. It's apples and oranges. One was Ian (and other writers, but mostly Ian) trying to wrangle and build off of the most insane and sprawling Sonic AU ever made that played by WILDLY different rules and had comparatively little oversight from Sega. The other is a series that's more limited in what it can do, but in exchange it gets to expand on the actual factual universe of the games and influence the franchise as a whole in a way we've never seen before. One was a sci-fi soap opera adventure series very much in the vein of Claremont X-Men, the other is trying to go for more of a streamlined shonen adventure style. Archie had a cast of hundreds (thousands?), while IDW has a much smaller cast, going for quality over quantity. And perhaps most importantly, the Archieverse ran for nearly 25 years and had over 500 issues total to explore its ideas, only truly hitting its stride near the halfway mark, while IDW Sonic's only been around for seven years and about 100 total comics.
So I just don't really see the need to pit them against each other. I like both. It's awesome to me that Sonic has had multiple long-running comic series with such different takes on the premise.

I think this perfectly represents what keeps me so attached to the sonic series.
It's always been so tied to found family. Sonic 2 happened and ever since then, they never stopped making siblings who love each other despite not being blood related.

I don’t think that we, as a Sonic fandom, stop enough to appreciate how talented and creative this fanbase can be. We have wonderful artists, musicians, storytellers, and more bringing their visions to life. I’m forever grateful to see the creative works from all of you.

Me, Sonic, & Sonic Movie 3
This is back when Frontiers initially released but I'm sharing it because it very much rings true.
With the 3rd movie releasing I've felt the hype and excitement not just from Sonic fans, but in my end even friends who weren't super into Sonic (initally).
As a someone who was a kid growing up in the 2010's it was rough to even remotely mention that I liked Sonic to others. In that same time I remember there being whispers of there being a Sonic Movie. Waiting and waiting, the horror that was that first trailer. But then THAT comeback with a great redesign and having the film be successful felt rewarding. And then a sequel ?!
These past couple years I've been able to engage and share my interest in Sonic without fear of ridicule. And sometimes I look back at my child-self and think this is what she always wanted. And for me in the present it's all I have ever wished for.

something i personally like about sonic's more recent characterization (and i mean mooooooore recent) is that he is a goofball, he is a dork, but he knows when to stop, and he shows a lot of emotional intelligence. yea hes all dumb jokes and that sorta stuff, but, for example, when he's around whisper he dials it down because he knows she gets overwhelmed. or (and i know the takeovers arent really canon but im the kinda guy that cherrypicks what i like out of them lol) this year's takeover where sonic was teasing shadow, but when shadow says something like "leave it to you to downplay my moment of vulnerability", clearly bothered, sonic apologizes right away and without making a big deal out of it (because judging from shadows character, he wouldn't like it if sonic made a big deal, and sonic seems to know this).
