i miss your posts!!
Hey! I have a popculture newsletter now - Popculture Sponge. You can subscribe to that and stay updated to my writing. Also, follow me on instagram. I'm quite active there.
A romance snob turned into a stan after it helped this author on her mental health journey and changed her perceptions about the genre!
Hulu’s Mrs. America May Just Be The Perfect Show For Our Times
“In each new episode, Mrs. America presented the viewer with a new quandary, ranging from issues like abortion and sexual harassment to homosexuality and racism; but the fact that these women, no matter their ideologies, at the end of the day are in the same patriarchal system, trying to be taken more seriously, wasn’t lost on anyone.”

do you do kids fashion? because i would love to see Princess Charlotte of Cambridge dress
Okay so, I have a strict personal rule of not talking about kid’s fashion. I only talk about child stars, if they themselves are working in the industry that too with a certain level of reserve. As far as the royal family is concerned, I do not talk about the style choices of the kids there because again, they aren’t working (doing their royal duties, etc).
Sophie, Countess of Wessex at Commonwealth Service : Sporting a beautifully fitted Suzannah dress with Jane Taylor hat, Prada pumpa, Beauchamps clutch and Heavenly Necklaces pearl drop earrings, Sophie looked perfectly respectable and elegant. Very classy!
Jaimie Alexander at ‘Bloodshot’ Premiere : Jaimie opted for a Mantú green lurex suit and while I love the color and fabric, awkward fitting made for a rather weird look. Not her best shot.
Gwendoline Christie at WE Day UK : Gwendoline looked impeccable in a nicely tailored Dior Homme suit that she paired with a matching blouse and suede shoes. Simple and tasteful.
Anya Taylor-Joy at Miu Miu Fashion Show : I like the quality of the fabric and the general styling, but a more seamless construction would have given the look a classier appearance. Right now, Anya looks fine, but she had the potential to look great.
Elizabeth Debicki at Miami Film Festival : While I like silhouette and side cutouts of this Prada dress, the wrinkled fabric coupled with the color choice didn't do much for Elizabeth. It didn't wash her out, but it's nearly there.
Important Announcement!
Hey guys,
I have decided not to continue using the url critic-corner.com for the blog. It’ll be going back to critic-corner.tumblr.com because well, I just didn’t wanna pay for the domain anymore.
That does not mean I’ll stop posting or anything. This blog isn’t going anywhere. I think we all need this frivolous escape from our crazy reality right now.
Also, I know I have been a bit inconsistent with my updates (what’s new lol). Believe it or not, I do try to update as much as possible. I know a lot of people suddenly have a lot of time in their hands due to quarantine (how’s that going, btw?), but for me it’s the opposite. I work as a translator for a grassroots news organization, Khabar Lahariya, that works in bringing forward the often-ignored voices of rural India to the forefront. So, because of all the non-stop reporting, I’m finding myself to the most busy I’ve ever been.
So, new posts will keep on coming at the unusual pace that has now turned into my trademark. Until then, do take care of yourself.
If you aren’t feeling well in these times, keep on reminding yourself that even though the pandemic is making you anxious or hopeless about the future, this will go away. That is a fact. This pandemic is not here to stay and we will get the answers to all our questions in some time. I’d urge you all to stay updated with the news cycle, but also make sure to take a break. Hold your elected representatives accountable - constantly ask them questions, make a conscious effort to let all the healthcare and essential service workers know that their sacrifices are appreciated and overall, just stay safe.

Virginie Efira at Berlinale Film Festival 2020 : Not only does the color look great on her, but the elegant fit of the top and pleated fall of the skirt made for a really graceful dress. Not a fan of the shoes, though. They were too trendy of a style to work successfully against the dress.
Margot Robbie in NYC : Margot kept things perfectly presentable with a flattering and comfortable black dress, matching shoes and simple hair-makeup. She looked nice.
Kate Middleton at Buckingham Palace Place2Be Reception : Kate brought back the bright blue embroidered Jenny Packham gown, that she wore during the Royal Tour to India, with matching clutch and softly curled hair. It's elegant and inviting enough to for a formal reception and regal enough to suit her image of a future queen.
Emma Corrin at Louis Vuitton Fashion Show : Emma opted for a simple and classy black Louis Vuitton full-sleeved dress with floral embroidered collars and cuffs. Matching shoes, yellow bag and simple hair-makeup completed her look. She looked great!
Bella Hadid at Lanvin Fashion Show : I love how unabashedly luxurious this Lanvin look is. From the stunning coat and chic bag to the elegant hair-makeup, Bella looked like an absolute delught. I like the addition of those boots as well. They added a level of edge and gave the look a modern touch that prevented it from going completely old-school.
