why are greek mythology adaptations always so gritty when there’s so many weird ridiculous antics to pull from. helen of troy not knowing how to cheer up telemachus so she drugs him to not feel any emotions and calls it a night. athena divinely intervening to curl odysseus’ hair so he looks sexy enough to successfully beg for help. aphrodite trying to help her kid on the battlefield and having to run away immediately because she gets beat up by a random mortal. achilles’ horse prophesying death to him and then never speaking again

Can I be honest, what was sherlock doing in superwholock? Like Dr Who and Supernatural I get: Doctor Who (especially at the time) had a lot of horror episodes, and regularly included supernatural elements (ghosts, werewolves, vampires, etc.). Both shows share a broadly MOTW structure with the characters travelling to new locations each week in the Impala/TARDIS. They both also feature immortal characters from a dying species (Castiel and the Doctor) paired alongside their human friends. Like they fit together incredibly well.

But Sherlock is a Sherlock adaptation?? They’re only ever in England and even then they’re in London 99% of the time? It’s a crime-thriller/murder mystery show? Some episodes could be very loosely classed as MOTW but the seasons are so short it doesn’t really feel like it? Sherlock and John are regular-ass humans dealing with regular-ass humans? Hello???

Supernatural and Sherlock are gay and homophobic, and Dr Who and Sherlock are BBC productions with Steven Moffat is that it????

#yeah I think it was mostly the moffat connection but sherlock and supernatural sure did also have the intense queerbaiting in common

For nine brutal years Achilles and his Myrmidons ravage the surrounding towns of the Troad, beginning with the sacrilegious killing of the Trojan prince Troilus at the sanctuary of Apollo, sealing the god's undying hatred. Achilles raids Mount Ida, captures the prince Lycaon by night and sells him into slavery, sacks city after city including Hypoplacian Thebes where he kills Andromache's father and seven brothers, takes the priest's daughter Chryseis as a gift for Agamemnon, and burns Lyrnessus, killing the family of the noblewoman Briseis before claiming her as his own concubine.
