"really?" mitsuki had been sitting at the edge of their bed, softly strumming on her guitar until aya had broken the silence. the question had her placing her guitar back in its stand, ready to give aya her full attention. mitsuki scooted further back onto the bed before flopping down next to aya. it was no secret that aya had an aversion to needles, so her wanting a tattoo had come as a bit of a surprise to mitsuki. maybe all the times aya had tagged along to mitsuki's tattoo appointments had slowly opened her up to the idea. "of course," she paused, reaching for aya's hand as reassurance, "i think if you can handle getting your belly button pierced, you'll do fine with a smaller tattoo. what are you thinking of getting?"

once mitsuki moved, aya immediately scooted closer to her “i just don’t want to pass out or worse, throw up. how embarrassing would that be?” she winced. “it would be worse than what happened at my first college party.” to this day she’s sure there’s still video evidence of her out there where she had drunk way too much alcohol too quickly and puked. her fingers intertwined with mitsuki’s. “maybe a butterfly or a music note. oh, and you know that cute little bunny miffy, maybe something like that. choosing which one is hard. i’m not sure where to put it either, i was thinking behind my ear. would it hurt there?”

“so,” she starts almost nervously, not fully committed yet to the idea she has in mind. “i’m thinking of getting a tattoo. i want something small, but needles kinda make me nervous.” getting her belly-button pierced a couple of years ago made her lightheaded so she isn’t sure how it’ll be having a needle repeatedly probe her skin with ink. the only thing that kept her somewhat calm and grounded was mitsuki being there holding her hand. “if i get one will you come and hold my hand?” // @diefor
