Atlas has an important message for you!
And one more. I think that this video is adorable, but I get the idea it might be less so to somebody who doesn’t like baby rats. This was their immediate reaction to me putting the plastic flowers down on the bed.
Anyone who hasn’t ever had rats has no idea how much they love things. Any things. More than possibly any other animal you can imagine.

All I Care About Is Love (Chicago) || Zentaro || Closed for Crypt
dancing-through-the-sea:
Oh man. That was truly unexpected! It caught Zentaro really off guard when Crypt suddenly pushed him off. As a result, the Dancer didn’t have much time to react to it. A simple blink came out of him as his feet lost bit of balance as he stumbled back from the push. Man, that was a really good reaction, my boy.
As he came back to his sense after that sudden movement from the other, Zentaro raised his hands at his defense, a bit worried look at his face as he didn’t know what the other person would do. “I-I apologize, Crypt-san! Did I hurt you in any way? Did I make you uncomfortable?” While this was supposed to be a time where he talks highly about himself and all, his classmate’s well being is much more important than this!
“I suppose I should have asked you before if you were okay with a surprise greeting! I figured Aidan-san was okay with it, I thought you were okay with it as well!"
He bowed deeply, still giving Crypt distance that they desired.
"Will you forgive me?”
Crypt watched him suspiciously, still very guarded, still tense, still leaning away. “... Yes. Uncomfortable,” they added the second word to clarify that they weren’t hurt. Slowly, their hand dropped from the pocket it was hovering near.
“I am not Doppler-san.” They say evenly, without hesitation. Had... Zentaro really thought that they would be okay with things just because Aidan was? That didn’t make sense, they and Aidan were so different, they... Ah...
They backed up a little more when he bowed, lowering their other hand to rest on their bicep. They were less ready to retaliate, but still very defensive and closed off. They even angled their shoulders and hips away from Zentaro instead of facing head-on.
“I don’t... know you like that. So don’t.”
Crypt seemed to want to fidget, but they stood entirely still. They dropped their eyes to not look directly at Zentaro’s face any more while still keeping his body in their peripheral vision clearly. They didn’t know how to handle this; they weren’t used to formal apologies like this.
All I Care About Is Love (Chicago) || Zentaro || Closed for Crypt
dancing-through-the-sea:
Crypt is very valid and the mun loves them. The House of Nature was really well-kept. All cleaned up and nothing for any visitor to worry about! This is now Zentaro’s new routine; cleaning up the place after he exercises and eats in the morning.
It was like being at home, minus the fact that people are advised to kill each other for our freedom. He was sitting in between the bunnies surrounding him. He smiled and waved at Crypt.
“Oh! Good day, Crypt-san! Welcome to the House of Nature, where we greet you with open arms!”
He emphasizes the word ‘we’ like Yoko does the same thing. Don’t get others involved! He stands up to give the other a big hug, patting the other’s back gently.
“What brings you here? I didn’t expect you to be the type who likes Nature too! You really surprise me, Crypt-san!”
Ah, well, greeting was no problem. Crypt nods as a way to say hello as well, but then he stands up and approaches -- Open arms? Did he---?
And then his arms were around them, pulling them close in a hug. Every muscle went rigid in response to his touch, and the look of complete and utter shock on their face was unmistakeable. For a moment, they forgot to breathe.
Zentaro was already loosening his grip and stepping back, talking about something else, by the time Crypt processed that this guy that they’d never even personally talked to had just walked up and hugged them, without permission.
Crypt’s first reflex was to put their hands up, palms flat against his abdomen and shoulder respectively, and shove him back as hard as they could. Immediately, they themself stepped backwards, and they kept one hand up defensively.
The other hand, however, wandered towards their pocket, hovering just over the opening.
“N-no, we don’t.” Crypt kept their eyes locked on him warily.

miracleofdespair:
Alright. Sometimes, getting busy is another way to pass time, right?
It wasn’t like Zentaro was avoiding people or anything of sorts! As he mentioned before during the pizza party, he tends to the House of Nature and takes care of it more than anyone else. There were animals! Someone had to feed them, give them water and attention, after all! While he didn’t win the Captain position, he felt alright. Heck, he even gave hugs and handshakes to those who ran as well. Cody might have even received a tighter hug from the Ballroom Dancer as he won the position! Congratulations Cody! You deserve it!
And this was Zentaro Kai’s plan of the day.
Out of his room, Zentaro kneels down to check up on the flowers, smelling them and greeting them whenever he’d pass by them. He’d greet all the little creatures whenever they pass by him. He laughed lightly as he seems to be enjoying himself a bit too much. While he wasn’t much of a nature person, he simply enjoy the aesthetic of being outside in general. While the House of Nature was no replacement to the outside world’s true beauty, it was simply better to get yourself busy and bond with the people you know and cherished around you!
Was it alright to talk to him at this time? Of course it is. A great bonding opportunity we have here!
Crypt had parted with their rats before going to the House of Nature for a very specific task. While exploring with Johnny, they had noticed a lot of animals around... including a rat or two. Not many, but one was enough to make Crypt excited, and the knowledge that there were probably more hiding was pleasing.
What wasn’t pleasing, however, were the snakes. Crypt was no fool and knew the diet of such creatures, and they weren’t about to waste time trying to befriend some of the little rats here. Step one: let the rats get used to them.
So they opened the door to the House of Nature, pausing for a moment to scan the room. Someone was there, but... he was busy. Crypt saw no need to bother him.
They walked into the room, planning to find a rat somewhere and just sit nearby.
A Deal to Die For...? || Crypt || Chapter 1 | RE: Game Start, Johnny
To say that Crypt had taken the announcement of murder game well would be an understatement, but they certainly look perplexed. Their eyes are focused downwards, and the frown is evident. For those of you who may have seen them very much, they seem a little more tense, but it’s subtle.
Was this real? Would someone here stoop to murder over something so little as… an explanation, escape, when one of the other parties who seemed to know what was going on was working to grant all of you that freely?
Biohazard stirred in their pocket, and they reached up a hand to gently pat her.
This was…. something, alright.
————-
Crypt didn’t know what to expect from Johnny’s strange request for breakfast companions, but they went along with it anyways. Perhaps others wouldn’t follow… Ah.
No.
It seems people did show up, which was rather surprising. The spread of food Johnny provided, while not all that much, was impressive… for Johnny. Unfortunately, Johnny didn’t seem to consider a thing called variety.
Ah, well. Crypt scanned over the options and went with a piece of toast, a little bit of the beans, and orange juice, which was…. an eclectic mix, to be sure.
… And then Johnny did that.
Crypt went still, right before taking another bite of the kind of terrible beans (they trusted it not to be poisoned, even if Johnny wasn’t eating anything himself), and stared at him as he finished the whole spiel. Then, slowly, they placed the spoon back down, closed their eyes, and heaved a sigh. Now people were yelling at him, threatening him, judging him, telling him to— ah.
Ah.
Hm.
Crypt watches Johnny for several moments, then drops their eyes to their plate and takes another bite of toast.

Travel down the road and back again || Cody || Prologue & Closed for CRYPT
shslstars:
Cody Smiled as he handed over the weapon to Crypt, He also brought one for Momoka but seeing as she wasn’t here Cody just set hers near the door. He turned back to Crypt who was, admittedly a lot a bit spooky but Mamma said never judge people by the way they look.
“Hey my dude that’s a sick talent. I’m not sure what exactly it is but it sounds fun! I’d say im sorry we wont get to be classmates but that’s okay because we get to be something better! We get to be Neighbors!”
Cody watched as Biohazard climbed Crypt’s arm in awe. What a gorgeous little Ratty. It made him nostalgic for NYC.
“Ah whatt!!! You got to bring your pets! I wish i got to bring my dogs. What’s her name? Can i pet her? I love rats! We had them everywhere back home and like yeah the subway rats were wild and whatever but you just give them some sandwich and they’re great listeners. Gosh i miss them.” Cody was enamored with the little rat and Crypt
Crypt couldn’t be scary if they took care of something so gentle as a rat.
Ah, this guy was a little excitable, wasn’t he? Crypt lightly ran their fingertips along the sword blade while Cody made a series of statements. “... I suppose,” they replied. They... couldn’t actually say that they had spoken to their neighbors in their apartment. They had just kept to themself, as they presumed the others wanted to as well.
Certainly no one walked around greeting each other with swords.
It was rather charming of him, really.
“Hm... yes. I often carry them. They were in my pockets when I woke.” Crypt gave a slight nod. They study Cody’s face, trying to get a read on him, then step a little closer and angle the shoulder that Biohazard is on towards him. They nod their head towards her a little. “Biohazard.” English.
They glanced at Biohazard, seeing that she was still leaning a bit towards Cody and watching him curiously, then returned their gaze to him. “Ask her.” Did he actually feed the subway rats...? They weren’t sure. They wouldn’t judge him for making it up if he hadn’t, but they wouldn’t blame him for doing it if he really had. After all, they certainly would be trying to befriend the subway rats.
“... Hold your hand to her. If she sniffs, she will ah... let you take her.” Crypt paused. “She may climb your arm. Be ready.” And, if she wasn’t okay with Cody touching her? Well, Crypt now had a sword.
Travel down the road and back again || Cody || Prologue & Closed for CRYPT
miracleofdespair:
Cody opened his eyes and stared at the sky. He didn’t know how he got here. and he didn’t care. The clouds were nice, and the grass was cool. He could chill for a while. Or he cold have but the mascot characters had something to say. An elf and a grumpy elf. Oh so they were stuck here for a while? Alright Alright Cool. Magic was a thing, up was down, Buildings grew from the ground.
This was his new normal and honestly he really didn’t mind, After all He had friends here. Well okay that wasn’t fair Friends implied he knew them but Then that meant that Cody had some work to do. He would Have to get up.
Actually Everything was kinda pretty.
Oh. Someone was coming toward him.
[Benimaru thread here.]
It was after he had left Benimaru that Cody got to check out his own home, Which was On the first floor, Full of cool weapons and armor! A museum of pointy things! Okay so he made one friend he needed more, In an effort to accomplish that Cody would go around the neighborhood and introduce himself to everyone and The best place traditionally would be right next door. With Swords in hand Cody departed the armory and headed to the House of the Rest.
Ah sweet, Skull Face paint? Was this guy with the Elves?
“Hey Are you at Hopes peak too? Hello My name is Cody and i can’t bake but i want to be a good neighbor so instead of cookies i brought you a sword.”
Cody presented Crypt with a sword pretty basic, but looked sharp or whatever. Hell Yeah Off to a good start.
“It’s not much but uh…Wow you live in a graveyard that’s metal as Fuck.”
Ah, another empty coffin. Crypt’s eyes searched the interior, the dust and stray cobwebs clinging towards the corners, then they slowly lowered the lid back down. They were gentle with it, almost like they were handling something fragile, despite the solidity of the wood and the heaviness that the lid closed back down with. They crouched down next to another near it and ran their gloved fingers across the lid.
Just as Crypt started to open it, they heard the sound of the door over to their right opening, and they paused to look over at the person who entered. Their roommate...? Ah, no, they didn’t think so. Their expression was impenetrable as their eyes flickered to the blade, but they decided it wasn’t their business and turned back to the coffin and pushed the lid open.
... Empty as well.
They started to look it over, but then realized that Cody was speaking to them... and one part that he had to say gave them pause and a furrow in their forehead. They turned back to him and rose, knocking the dust off of their gloves.
“Ah, you... did.” Puzzling. Crypt examined him silently for a moment before dipping their head in greeting.
“Pleasure to meet you, Cody-san. I’m Crypt.”
They fell silent for a moment. Their voice was soft and almost monotonous, but not quite, and there was a bit of a rasp to it. “.... Yes. I am the preservation artist, I believe.... we are intended to be in class together.”
There was a scurrying sound over towards the wall, and a black and white rat approached the ledge of the shelf there, standing up on her haunches and pointing her nose back and forth between Crypt and Cody. Crypt extended their left hand towards her, and almost immediately she hopped onto their hand and started scurrying up their arm and pointing her nose in Cody’s general direction.
“Thank you. For the sword.” Once Biohazard was up their arm, Crypt held their hands out in front of them, showing that they would accept the gift. They still hadn’t taken a step towards Cody, though. “It isn’t a graveyard until someone is buried in it. I have not found a body yet.”
There you go, the first half of those pictures I said I’d do.
Familiar Face in an Unfamiliar Place || Ranam || Prologue || CLOSED for Crypt
miracleofdespair:
Ranam blinked her eyes open… When did she lay down? Her reaction wasn’t one of panic, in fact, she barely reacted at all at first, instead taking in the situation. She let her hand glide over the grass, letting it tickle her palm through her glove as she stared up at the branches, gathering her bearings, remaining calm… Then a voice entered her head, and it certainly didn’t belong to her. The girl sat up abruptly, looking around her, her eyes widening when the realization that they weren’t in the same place as before set in. The tree shrinking might have been a good hint, but she was a bit dazed at the moment. As the events unfolded before her, she clasped her hands over her mouth anxiously. What was going on? How did the houses grow? How was there a room INSIDE a tree? How were people talking in her head? She had theories… but… this was just weird.
With the Istari character running off, Ranam stood from her place on the ground, and began looking over her classmates. It wasn’t easy seeing over the crowd with her standing only at 4'7", but one of her classmates stood out in particular, a certain edgelord. <Crypt-san!> The voice might have taken some of her classmates by surprise. It was soft, and sweet, but notably digital. Not only that, but it wasn’t produced by her mouth, rather the voice came from the speakers on the back of her gloves as she signed in JSL. The girl moved to Crypt’s side, revealing another odd trait, that the more observant of her classmates likely already were aware of. The right leg of her pants were hemmed to display a prosthetic leg that started just above her knee. The leg was honestly beautiful, The body was chrome, but it had what appeared to be a white porcelain faceplate with a custom design. It was as much a work of art as it was functional.
With each step, she kicked her leg out slightly to the side, before bringing it in front of her. While it looked slightly unnatural, she didn’t seem to struggle to get around at all. <Crypt-san, are you okay?> She asked once she was close enough. <Do you know what’s going on? Where are we?>
A subtle flicker of an upward turn that Ranam would be able to identify as the Crypt equivalent of a smile settled on Crypt’s face as they turned towards the voice that addressed them.
“Ah, Usahara-san.” They dipped their head towards her in greeting, letting Biohazard climb back up to their shoulder. She pointed her nose at Ranam, then scurried through their hair against the back of their neck to reappear on the other shoulder, closer to the blue-haired girl. Cauldron’s tail disappeared into their pocket as their head popped out to peek at her, too.
Crypt shook their head once, looking down at the much smaller girl. “I’m fine, but I do not. It’s... perhaps an experimental room.” They paused to glance around the unfamiliar surroundings. “Science class. Testing holograms? Or... theater... Ah...” They touch one gloved hand ever-so-lightly to their chin.
“Hm...”

Oh, Rats || Crypt || Prologue Reaction | Closed
The first thought that ran through Crypt’s mind as they felt something stir on their chest was that the girls must have gotten out of their cage somehow. It wouldn’t have been the first time – they were rather clever after all, so clever – but the feeling of a breeze and the sounds of stirring around them quickly marked this as something much more strange.
Opening their eyes, Crypt did indeed spy a little white rat sitting on their chest, her nose wiggling as she sniffed the air and looked around in fascinating. A second after they stirred, another black head popped up next to their elbow, seeming excited that they were awake now. No sooner had they started to sit up than Cauldron scurried down their jacket front to find stabilization on their lap and Biohazard jumped up and clambered up their arm to their shoulder, promptly tickling their neck with her whiskers. It was no wonder that their leather jacket was covered with little nicks and clawmarks.
They reached one gloved hand up to rest against the black and white rat at their neck to make sure she was stable. “Mmmh, Biohazard, what are you doing…?” they mumbled under their breath, quietly and only for their rats.
They were quite sure they didn’t have the rats with them at the ceremony. Did they? They had thought about it, but they had chosen to leave them– ah, or had they?
…. It was pointless to ponder that, though, since they very clearly were not at the ceremony anymore, but rather some place they had never been. Some sort of LARPers, they presumed, were talking – ah, really they had good costumes, it was just… odd.
“Hm…”
Crypt’s brow furrowed. Tricks of the door inside of the tree, the optical illusion of the houses, and many other perplexing matters were commanding their attention, which was displeasing to Biohazard. She danced a little circle on their shoulder and then poked her nose in their ear, propping up by placing a little perfect paw on their jaw. That successfully broke them out of their thoughts and got them to jump a little, tilting their head to one side (and thus, their ear away from her reach), and scooped her up in both of their hands to give her the attention she was demanding. Of course, they were only half paying attention to her, but the petting seemed to be attention enough.
Cauldron climbed back into one of their pockets, leaving the tip of her tail sticking out.
Crypt started to scan the crowd, taking in all of their disparate reactions. He’d done research, of course, and had spotted a few of them around campus, but–
– Oh.
They did a double take once they noticed someone dressed as a cowboy. Not just anyone, but Johnny Kane, of all people. They hadn’t been sure it was him before, but now there was no mistaking it. Was it appropriate to greet him?
Keeping one hand cradling Biohazard to their chest and touching the other to make sure Cauldron was secure, Crypt pushed themself to their feet and dusted themself off, just in time to hear their name in a familiar electronic voice.
[Continued in reply to Ranam]
