The director (a sexual harasser who’s also making money off the movie btw) literally instructed her to ignore heavier topics in interviews and try to portray the movie as a more lighthearted story of a woman overcoming those hardships. It was his decision down to the flowery outfits she was wearing. Thanks for exposing that you did, in fact, only hate her because of the scheme orchestrated by a man trying to get out of a lawsuit. I’m sorry to be the one to tell you this but Margot Robbie doesn’t actually wear pink 24/7, that was for the Barbie movie. It’s very common practice for actors to have their clothes and presentation altered to fit the movie they’re trying to sell you. Interviews are, at minimum, loosely scripted to give talking points that are not decided by the actors themselves. These are normal things that actors rarely push back against.
