i would love to im giving you a longer explanation below the cut but. short version here. tldr; theyre ari and samson (left to right) my weird little guys. formerly biomedical researchers, currently paranormal investigators due to their research facility actually being a doomsday cult. they go on wacky adventures involving ghosts and the sort. also theyre in love. <3

okay hi long version ive got so much to say

the guy on the left is ari the other guy is samson. ari was a biochemist and sammy was a biomedical engineer and they both met through their work and became housemates and also lovers. but then oh nooo the mysterious medical research facility they worked for turned out to be a front for a doomsday cult. ari gets a little too close to this fact (and also his coworkers just hate him for fun) and he gets screwed over and roped into this experiment that almost kills him. he goes missing, gets rescued by this opposing group working to shut the cult down and stop the apocalypse. sammy gets mysterious orders from this group and steals a bunch of records and shit from the facility before being reunited. theyre basically #1 enemy of the facility now so they join the little group and do a bunch of paranormal investigating on their path to stopping the apocalypse. they live in an antique shop that is also a front (for shady paranormal investigations this time) and go on adventures together and do very morally grey and/or downright terrible things. for the good of the world <3 in the end of the story they gain the antique shop and turn it into a record store and live happily ever after.

unrelated facts but the story takes place in the 70s in what i refer to as fantasy omaha. in enneagrams sammy is a 8w9 and ari is a 4w5.

if you need help with leo’s face, he has a real life face model/voice actor you can study! his names is fares fares and his nose is glorious. (this is of course assuming you didn’t know that, and i’m sorry if you already did.)

i DID know this but i also did not consider that fact when drawing him... im gonna do a bunch of sketching tomorrow and figure it out i think. i was gonna work on it and have a sketch to go with this ask but i think i've broken that part of my brain today.

if you look through the doom patrol tag on my blog you will find ONE post but i that was 2020 and i wouldn't recommend it. i think its funny ive never drawn real fanart for it considering its one of my like. long term interests. maybe once i clear out my current wip's i will sketcha little something....

my aforementioned robot i got for christmas :]

this guy is the TOMY verbot, a voice controlled robot released sometime mid-80s. the voice control remote with him is non-functional, and there's some sort of issue with his wheels preventing him from moving, but he does turn on. aside from this he's in very good condition. he came in his original box with the instructional pamphlet, which has a couple cute illustrations :]
