a/n: this man is more criminally underwritten than jack. btw "enjoy the silence" by depeche mode honestly fits this fic
Contains: fluff, established relationship, gender is not relevant to the story but there are mentions of a female reader, hints of crack (he's brainrotted), cursing
You sat on the couch, awaiting the arrival of your boyfriend, Toge. He was out on a mission exorcising a curse, which would have been fine had it not been the weekend. This meant that you were alone pretty much all day. Sure, you had friends, but this was supposed to be your 'hang out with boyfriend' time.
Stupid Jujutsu High and their stupid quality time stealing, you thought, slightly sulking. Maybe it was selfish to be angry about Toge going out to protect civilians from curses, but a girl's allowed to be obnoxious every once in a while.
Your vagaries of Inumaki just not going and just letting Tokyo burn were interrupted by your phone buzzing. Speak of the devil.
Troll 🤫🍙💗: omw bbg oil up
You: im gonna whoop ur ass when you get here
Troll 🤫🍙💗: thats so hot please do 😩
You: nvm im not telling you
Troll 🤫🍙💗: just say u hate me and want me to die
Rolling your eyes, you placed your phone back down and mentally made a list of the things that had been accomplished during your free day. You stopped by the store to pick up some more cough syrup, watched a shitty reality show, and contemplated reorganizing your closet. Yes, this was the pinnacle of productivity.
You perked up at the sound of the front door opening, turning in your seat on the living room couch, greeted by the sight of Inumaki shuffling inside, plastic bag in hand. He slipped off his shoes before raising his eyes to meet yours.
"Kelp," he greeted, moving beside you. His slim fingers found the zipper of his uniform and tugged it down, exposing the seal on the lower half of his face. "Tuna mayo." He motioned with his hand for you to move over.
You groaned, but still shifted to the side of the couch. Inumaki laid his head in your lap, rich brown eyes gazing into yours attentively. In all honesty, you probably were unable to stay mad at him for doing his job for long. Toge was just too pretty for that.
"You're right, I am lowkey pissed," you responded.
"Well, for starters, you haven't been home all day, which isn't necessarily your fault, but I was just waiting the whole day," you began your tirade. "I'm glad that you're protecting the world and all, but, seriously, do they not have any other sorcerers who could've stepped in? Like, this was our 'spend time together all day' day, and fucking Jujutsu High swoops in and cockblocks me from seeing my boyfriend."
"Spicy cod roe," Toge encouraged from your lap. You ran a hand through his platinum tresses, twirling a few strands around your fingers. He simply sighed in contentment, body visibly relaxing.
"They have so much audacity. Practically stealing you from me," you pouted, withdrawing your fingers to cross your arms. Inumaki almost immediately lifted a hand, gently grasping your wrist and leading it back down to his head. "You make it hard to stay mad," you grumbled. Still, you went back to playing with his hair.
"Salmon roe," Toge said smugly.
"Don't let it get to your head."
Inumaki reached for his phone, opening it to his notes. You continued playing with his hair as he typed. Soon, he brought it to your face. You took the phone from his hands and read.
I didn't want me to go either. Can't be leaving my omega at home without her alpha.
You looked down at his face, glaring. "Fuck you, I'm the alpha." Inumaki rolled his eyes.
You continued reading, choosing to ignore his retort.
I'll have u know that I absolutely smoked those curses, tho. There's also ur favorite food in that bag. Picked it up on the way here.
"Thank you, baby. I'll have some later." You handed his phone back. "Can we just cuddle for now? I missed you."
"Tuna tuna!" He nodded excitedly and sat up before practically tackling you onto your side. Your arms wrapped around each other as he buried his face in your shoulder.
"I love you so much," you sighed out.
Inumaki couldn't say it back, for obvious reasons. Instead, he planted soft kisses all over your neck and collarbone.
There was silence for a moment--which was quite typical--as time seemed to slow. No one else mattered, let alone existed, to the both of you. Gone were the responsibilities of being a sorcerer, the havoc wreaked by rogue curses, your previous anger at the world, the hustle and bustle of Tokyo, everything. Right now, it was just you and your Toge. That was all you could ever want.
