Yk it really sucks when I look back at a series I’m fond of through an adult lens and it starts to look… absolutely repulsive.
Not that I didn’t find it weird as a teen that the Ace Attorney games have an obsessive fascination with teenage and young girls hanging around men twice their age and having dialogue options that hint at romance between them; or the blatant objectification of female characters; or the weird misogynistic comments about how women aren’t strong enough to murder men; or the fact that the writers refuse to reveal to Apollo and Trucy that they’re half-siblings so they can have weird, incestuous winks at the audience; or the fact that female characters are benched when they get too old; or that the localization team will change the name of Trucy’s magical pants in the translation so they can have a seventeen-year-old girl talk about her magical panties (despite “magical bloomers” or “magical pants” being better options for translation); or that they designed a fourteen-year-old tsundere who calls people childish names when she’s embarrassed and disrobes and dances with her entire back and legs out and have her belly-button visible through a fucking dress in some illustrations; etc. etc.
It’s just particularly egregious now and pisses me off so badly that it takes me out of the game. All I can say is I would really like writers and character designers and men in general to do better and be fucking normal about women and young girls.
Edit: please do not misinterpret this post as bad faith, Ace Attorney fans. I’m a longtime fan of the series! I just think we all deserve better than the writers and designers covertly feeding us their thinly-veiled fetishes and paraphilia.

In 2026, the chicest thing a gay actor can do is never explicitly come out as gay but also make it abundantly clear that he is. Coming out is too modern. Staying closeted is too old fashioned. But this method merges contemporary freedom with Old Hollywood glamour and allure, and it weeds out the dumbest people who truly don’t get it. I call it the Pascal Method.
Taylor Swift does this
no she doesn’t
You clearly don't go here or to queer history and signaling, or both, enough to have this conversation and I'm not going to explain it to you. You could have asked questions, you could have done even a modicum of research. You didn't and you made yourself look ignorant. Goodbye.
