guys wait listen hear me out here okay. listen. the typical lore for ghosts is that they stick around because they have unfinished business, right? louis and lestat being together was bringing a jinx, blocking the gate, louis said that he can't let her go, on and on. she only escaped the salt circle when she hit him. she told him to stop saying her name. and for whole episode after, they never said her name. madeleine died at peace with claudia, with her coven, and claudia didn't. what if that was the difference, and now that their idea of her is dispelled claudia can finally stop being their ghost now and be with her love?

i do understand why its such a big debate over whether the train scene happened or not bc it is nuanced and all but honestly i really do hope claudia lied about it bc it implies she sat there brainstorming how to turn louis against lestat and that was her result

the biggest problem with amc is that they keep making iwtv spin-offs like talamasca or the mayfair witches that nobody watches or wants when they have the PERFECT setup for an ensemble comedy just sitting there and they do nothing with it. no other gothic drama has:

family setup of dumb & dumber parents with big personalities, marital issues, and the good ol' Evil Baby

polycule of theatre kids with a tired manager, loads of interpersonal beef/relationship drama, and infinite free time

a band of complete fools with infinite access to drugs that somehow went 30 concerts not realizing that their frontman "the vampire lestat" who drinks blood on stage every night is a vampire

look at how well what we do in the shadows went. if amc locked the fuck in we could have an animated series/sitcom worth MILLIONS

actually the real risk with being companionless/covenless as a vampire isn't soul-crushing loneliness it's the fact that isolated vampires just start doing anything. four grown ass men got divorced last season and the second they live alone lestat starts a middling soundcloud career, louis starts stalking some poor waitress, daniel becomes a bowling fanatic, and armand is in fucking ohio
