birthdays get weirder as you get older because on one hand, I feel less celebratory knowing I’m closer to 40 and not having accomplished as much as I’d have wanted. on the other, I’m far firmer on social media boundaries than I was a year ago AND I’m kind of learning how to be okay with this whole “enjoying my own company” thing. is it going well? eh, tbd, but right now, gotta learn to enjoy the present moment.

anyway it is embarrassing that it took me til I was THIRTY to come to this realization and it’s even more embarrassing!!! that incredibly stupid shit I absolutely will not mention publicly is what led me to finally get my shit together, but I’m still young! I still have time! and even if I’m not, fuck deadlines! it’s crazy how people say your 30s are when you stop giving a fuck. I kind of accepted that I’ll always give a fuck regardless of age, but I gotta be more selective abt what I give a fuck about. Life is FAR far too short to spend it worrying about what some stranger on Twitter thinks or shit that happened back in high school.
