There is a lot of discourse in the notes here that seems to boil down to ‘but I liked that character,’ and it’s important to realize this is not post criticizing these characters, it’s a post heightening how BIPOC often fall into these stereotypes, how important it is to keep an eye out for them, and especially how important it is to get BIPOC feedback on your work. We all absorb these things unconsciously, and it takes work to pry them loose.

Something important to add here. 

I feel like I need to remind people that if you use BIPOC it needs to stand for Black, Indigenous, People of Colour. 

By removing that comma you are removing a lot of people from the conversation. You are erasing a lot of people who are POC from the narrative, and that’s not okay.
