The problem with suicidal thoughts is that they’re not just there when your sad. You’ll be there, chillin, reading a book or talking to a friend and you’ll think ‘This is nice. But do you know what would be better? Death.’

@lumos-vs-nox This is referred to as “mild suicidal ideation“ or the desire for suicide without substantial action behind it. It often happens when someone deals with prolonged mental health issues and suicidality at a young age. When you’re young, we go through a period where our neural pathways completely rearrange- the things that happen to us at that time will influence these changes. In a way, suicidal ideation becomes an ingrained coping mechanism. A sort of “well at least suicide is always there for me”. Your brain is part-muscle, it remembers things, it learns, it’s super great at adapting, this is just a reflex. It doesn’t mean you are weak, it doesn’t mean you aren’t in recovery.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Immanuel Kant. The metaphysics is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of epistemological reason most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Kant’s atheistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Humean empiricism, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Immanuel Kant truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Kant’s ironic quote, “The death of dogma is the birth of morality” which itself is a cryptic reference to Hume’s Treatise of Human Nature. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Kant’s genius unfolds itself on their pages. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Immanuel Kant tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎

i witnessed the most fascinating thing today imo…my 4th grade art class were talking while they did their work and one of them was like “if you work hard all your life…….it means NOTHING” and their response was to all crack up and start running with this bit like. “you work all your life on an oil painting. the mayor comes in. he says ‘i didn’t even ask you to do that painting.’” they kept going giving examples of nothing mattering and laughing hysterically. they’re 9. like, we think OUR humor is depressing or w/e, how are THEY going to be
