I never thought I would be siding with the pope’s involvement in politics and cheering him on. I will say that.

just a reminder that:

the phrase "say her name" is to used honor and bring attention to the murders of black women by the police or the state.

and the phrase "rest in power" is used to honor and signify the work that a black person has participated in, as far as the fight for social and racial justice.

To add context, "Say Her Name" was specifically a campaign started by Kimberle Crenshaw to draw attention to Black women who were killed by cops. That remained the case for about 5 minutes before somebody decided that they liked the sound of it then just distorted it to shit instead of asking what it was for.

If Kimberle Crenshaw sounds familiar, you may also know her as the woman who coined the term intersectionality. Another term created by Black women to highlight our particular experiences that got co-opted and distorted to shit.
