Not that I know anything about show biz, but I would assume that you NEED to give a shit about your fans. Whether the show has a built in fan base or not, shouldn’t you show in some way that you care about what fans say? I am not saying yeah, sure, take your show ideas from Twitter, but if you don’t engage the fans than why should they engage you? Shouldn’t you want to please fans? Isn’t that what helps keep interest alive in your show and make people come back for more? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ll never stop comparing the GOT cast to the Outlander cast. It’s a night and day difference. Just take Sophie’s recent interview for example. She cried because the thought of her potentially saving some girls life due to the character she portrays and her status as a celebrity was so overwhelming to her. That’s someone who cares about her fans and about the people who put her in her position. Meanwhile Sam and Cait sat back and watched/joined in while an old man eviscerated their fandom and people still want to worship them. I can’t.

That’s really not the point. These two committed to every con they could because they get paid a ridiculous amount of money for them - Sam cancelled 4? 5? Cait has cancelled at least 3. And all they say is they’re sorry xx, have fun with the other supporting cast there.

If this wasn’t a pattern, it wouldn’t be a big deal. I don’t begrudge them their careers. But they can’t even do small things for Outlander fans on social media like follow through with answering three tweets that they asked for while they were filming their last day. They probably won’t even say much beyond a basic apology about this because so many people just come and kiss their asses instead.

I understand their work obligations come first - but then don’t overcommit yourself. It’s unfair to fans and it keeps happening. The majority of fans who plan for these events aren’t rich like they are. Flights and hotels aren’t always refundable and these cities are expensive places to go.

It’s disappointing, but then that’s par for the course with Outlander.

Nope. And there wasn’t complete silence anon. Sam tweeted “suggest you ignore”. He tweeted and told people to stop because it was just #tv so our feelings weren’t valid. He liked a tweet telling a fan to sod off because she wanted support. Cait liked a tweet calling us crazy. She also liked a tweet saying that all he was doing was calling out the bullies. Don’t forget all of this. They don’t feel an ounce of guilt or shame for what went down and I don’t expect them to because they agree with the harassment and bullying of shippers. Everyone thinks we deserved that kind of treatment, for whatever reason.
