Watched this latest interview with Alex Nedeljkovic and he got asked what his top all-time starting lineup would be (3 forwards and 2 d-men) if he could only pick from his current or former teammates (not just the NHL but the other leagues he played in as well) - basically, anyone he's ever played on a team with.

Just as a reminder, since the 2018/19 season Nedeljkovic has played for the following NHL teams: the Canes, the Red Wings, the Penguins and now the Sharks. So keep their rosters in mind.

His first two answers for forwards were the usual suspects: Sid and Mack.

Then he had trouble deciding on the third but this is how the conversation went from there:

1. After he got clarification that they were looking for someone who would complement Sid and Mack the best, there was absolutely NO hesitation in saying it's Will.

2. He's basically putting Will on the same level as Svechnikov - a guy who's 5 years older than Will, is undoubtedly his team's second best player (this last season he was 2nd in goals scored, trailing after 1st by only 1 goal; 3rd in points scored, trailing after 2nd only by 1 point) and literally just won a Stanley Cup with the Canes.

3. Can't talk about Will without mentioning the chemistry with Mack lmao.

Also, after he picks all five players (Sid, Mack, Will, Slavin and Mo Seider) he finishes with: "I think those five guys would be pretty hard to beat. You could put those five up against almost anybody, I think."

The logistics thing that gets me is when they write the team practicing or working out in their home arena like every major sports team doesn’t have a practice facility specifically for that purpose.

like yes, will “loved by many” “a party at every hole” smith maybe has a reputation amongst his crowd for being easy for just one glance and a well-timed hand on his thigh, but maybe they also know he never wants anything back. maybe he looks up at fowler with his shirt caught in between his teeth and teases him while they’re on ice and maybe he does drop to his knees for him later, but maybe he also pushes jacob’s hand away when he reaches out to caress will’s face. maybe those rumors from that house in michigan and that boston college dorm are true, maybe he let himself be swayed into his best friends’ beds with a few too many drinks and a slurred “smit” in his ear, but ryan’s never gotten to kiss him and gabe’s never seen him with his shirt off. maybe voter follows him around eagerly in the hopes that will is gonna someday let him mouth at the cold silver of his pendant, maybe all those boys in his instagram comments know that he can do something for them. that he probably will. if they act right.

maybe they also know that he’s been easy for mack since the moment they first locked eyes, maybe they understand that they can have will’s mouth around them and his pretty blue eyes looking up at them and even one of his hands gripped in theirs, but he’s mack’s and he kind of always has been, has always been waiting for this since ages before mack peeled his boxers off with trembling hands for the first time, vulnerable and yet still aching for him.
