Evaluation - Website
I was really looking forward to web as it was new to me, I was new to coding and the fact that we was creating a website about me and my work I felt that the pressure was on and I really wanted to create a good functioning website.
My first step was to research other websites I liked. I tried to find at least one element a liked about every website with the plan on bringing these elements together to create a great website.
I found a black and white website that visually really caught my eye. As everything was in black and white everything looked great together illustrations and photography would not clash next to each other as the black and white brought the elements together. I did a lot of website research and started to think about the techniques I wanted to use on my website
I started researching into HTML and CSS. I was going on websites that helped teach you to code, their was a lot of these sites out their and I wanted to find one that was popular and well used. I found two outcomes, one was a application that you added on Facebook which helped teach you with social media the app was called Codeacademy. The second website I found was http://www.w3schools.com this website alone helped me a lot, it was the starting point that taught me the terminology of coding and this enabled me to find answers to my questions.
My design process was long, stressing but very rewarding in the end. I went through 2 – 3 web designs that where visually a lot different to each other. Being able to step back and bring certain elements together to create a greater web design worked well.
We did a coding exercise in class which I thought I was going to struggle with, thankfully I picked up on the pattern of coding and I started to make fast and great progress. With the help of my research and strong idea of what I wanted I was able to create my first coded website and I am thrilled with the outcome. I worked hard solving the little problems, preserved and got it done. I still did a lot of little design changes throughout the web coding but I found that the more organized my root folder was the easier it would be to edit images later on.
I am really happy with the outcome and I am pleased with my efforts, if I could change anything it would be my attendance, I did not utilize the tutor as I should have. I feel this pushed me a lot though as I new my final outcome had to be good as it was reflecting me and only me.
