deeply Snape coded💀💀💀
We need more fics where Snape making peace with the things that happened to him doesn't mean making him forgive the Marauders.
Some things are just unforgivable, y'know?
What an underrated severitus trope you like
Not any classic stuff, like stuff you thought up into your head or have only seen bits and pieces of
(Mine is Harry sh-ing and Severus just breaks down crying cause Lily would’ve raised him with so much love)
Ihhfhhffhjdjsuhhhhhhhh . Lemme think about this
I’m kinda forgetting what’s a trope and what’s not so I’ll just list stuff I don’t see often and would enjoy more of:
Mute Harry is interesting, whether if he’s fully non verbal or only speaks around people he’s comfortable with
Unhealthily dependent Harry . He’s had to be independent all his childhood, cooking and cleaning and doing other chores and staying home sometimes by himself, without any kind of support emotional or physical, so when he’s finally got someone who can be there for him , it makes it all the more shocking and painful to read him completely unable to be without Snape, this kid had survived so much and been on his own for so long turned into someone so needy and anxious because finally someone can fulfil that need (this is what I want to explore in Dogwood Harry when I write the fic)
Bad guardian Snape because in most severitus he’s the good parent who doesnt think he’s good or a parent but he treats Harry so well because he wouldn’t neglect a child even if it’s the child of his old bully, and while I like that, I think a Snape who is genuinely struggling with his temper and whatever other mental issues he has while having to take care of a child he didn’t volunteer to babysit is more interesting . He scrambles to cook enough for Harry because he hardly remembers to feed himself . He has no idea what to do if Harry cries and just leaves the room because he himself would rather cry alone. He actively avoids any sort of interaction with Harry sometimes because all he can remember some days is the fact that his only friend is dead and he killed her and there’s nothing he can do to bring her back (now this could be Dogwood Snape)
I'm a fan of Harry wakes up screaming from a nightmare or something trauma related happens and Snape has to try and get him to calm down but doesn't really know how to comfort someone so it's awkward at first but works out in the end.
Harry goes down to the dungeons during a school break because he’s bored or just wants to hang out with Severus and ends up just napping in his couch like a bum

Snape: what does he think this place is, a hotel ?
*keeps spare pyjamas for Harry*
*keeps spare toothbrush and toothpaste for Harry*
*gets extra blankets for Harry*
*gets new pillows for Harry*
*sneaks around his own private living quarters because he doesn’t want to wake Harry*
I like to think of Severitus having very domestic moments. Severus tucking Harry in, fixing his hair (as much as physically possible with James' genes) in the morning, sitting together and reading/studying/marking homework...hm..
theyre father and son your honor 🗣️
*snape opens the door*
snape: after you.
alastor: no thank you. i never let anyone walk behind me. seven out of ten attacks are from the rear.
snape: …okay? but that still leaves a 30% chance of being attacked from the front.
alastor: yeah, but it’ll be easier to stop. i can always blow the attacks, or i can counter-
snape: *punches him in the face and walks on*
*quirrell crying*
snape: i didn’t mean to scare him
mcgonagall: you literally whispered ‘I know what you did’
(weekly gossip session)
mcgonagall: -so i go in the room, i sit down-
snape: okay and where are you sitting, are you down on a chair or are you at your desk?
mcgonagall: yeah, i’m at my desk.
snape: OH, so you’re minding your own business!
mcgonagall: YEAH, SO IM MINDING MY OWN BUSINESS AND-
Doing their nightly rounds. (Timelapse video below)

The disappointment of scrolling through trans!Harry fics and repeatedly seeing transphobic!Severus in them- like Severus snape? the man who literally has long hair, had “feminine” handwriting, was made fun of for crying and had an entire scene dedicated to kids laughing at him being forced to wear women’s clothes?
Just a little Sev doodle
"Snape hates Neville!!"
Meanwhile, Neville doesn't follow instructions and creates a concoction so potent it melts a cauldron and burns holes in other students shoes, along with himself being covered in painful boils.
Being called an 'idiot boy' in response is tame in comparison, especially considering the circumstances lmao.
Like no shit he's gonna be strict when fucking up a potion can cause that much damage and more like??
ETA: That is literally all Severus does in that scene btw. Aside from ordering Seamus to take Neville to the Hospital Wing in post, and then chastise Harry for not keeping an eye on Neville (which, it was wrong for him to single Harry out, especially with the baseless assumption that he was purposefully not aware of his surroundings for his own gain. But on the other hand it is a sensible lesson to keep an eye on those at your table - especially in a potions setting. Same lesson could have been acheived in a better manner though).
ETA 2: Also thinking about how *little* points Severus takes in that entire class. *Two* points. When he's already been "established" by Ron (going off word of mouth) that he favours Slytherin and can be nasty.
ALSO the way Malfoy being praised is framed as favouritism, even though he's just good at instructions and happens to be in Slytherin like??
And *this* is way you take Harry's narration, especially early on, with a grain of salt because *he is a child and doesn't have a full grasp of everything to understand in a non-biased way*. He's an unreliable narrator (as is expected).
I'm not like the other Snapinators. I don't like Snape because he's edgy, I like him because he's sensory overload autism coded and disgusted with humanity and children yet somehow cares enough to know details about everyone he teaches because at some level he does care for the kids but hates the environment he's forced to reside in
Well is legit
