happy april 30th!
It's so refreshing talking about politics with other immigrants tbh cos they are willing to look at the Complexities whereas westerners will often expect you to have one single rigid globally-applicable political alignment and clutch their pearls if you imply that things work a little differently where you're from
Far right in Canada: *every single nazi dogwhistle you can think of*
Far right in Ukraine: "we hate minorities but we hate Russia more"
Far left in Canada: "yes, I'm a Marxist-Leninist. No, I don't know what that means :)"
Far left in Ukraine: "let's bring back the USSR! (please don't ask what my parents were doing in the 70s)"
Center in Canada: "well I just think we should hear both sides out - the side that thinks eat the rich includes dentists, AND the side that wants to kill every immigrant baby! All opinions are valid!"
Center in Ukraine: "can we please just join the EU so we can maybe stop being invaded"

What I mean is, basically, that Sherlock, while being extremely rigorous in correcting any OBJECTIVE mistake, can’t be bothered to try and correct any SUBJECTIVE mistake.
And now I’ll try and explain myself more clearly…
