The Art of Remembering (11/?)
Summary: Killian hasn’t seen Emma in months, not since she ran off in the middle of the night. But when he receives a call from the hospital informing him that she’s been in an accident he rushes to be by her side. Nervous and anxious to see her again he’s not sure what to expect—but he definitely doesn’t anticipate that upon waking she would have no idea who he is. Modern au

Catch up: first chapter, previous chapter
a/n: Reminder that full italic sections are memories, also know that not every memory is going to be addressed/acknowledged by Emma in present time. But know that they are things she’s remembering and is therefore directly affected what she’s thinking, how she’s feeling, her decisions, who she is in general etc. As always thank you so much for reading! I love hearing what you think!
“This is silly,” Emma laughs as she walks backwards. Killian stands in front of her, his hands on her shoulders as he leads her through some nonexistent forest path. He’d been excited about this surprise all day, which is why she’d eagerly played along when he asked her to turn around. “Why can’t I just close my eyes?”
“Because you’ll peek,” he smirks, his eyes alight with playfulness.
Emma’s mouth drops open as she pretends to be affronted. “I will not!”
Killian’s eyebrow arches high as if to say he knows better, and she rolls her eyes a little, loving every second of this little game of theirs. “Fine…I might. But what about a blindfold? That’s got to be easier than what we’re doing now.”
Killian shakes his head chuckling. “You’d find a way to look.”
“You just think doing it this way is more amusing.”
He smirks again. “Perhaps.”

I've been thinking about those two Hooks
Let’s say Hook 1 is our Killian Jones and then we have Hook 2 who we still don’t know who he is.
But.
What if Hook 2 is from the future? They seem to be still in the Enchated Forest when they fight, but both Hook 1 and Hook 2 are in modern world clothes. So, in the sneak peek with Emma, there is a very big hint that they are trying for a baby. But then, in the future, Emma and Killian both go to the Enchanted Forest, after Henry. Henry tells them about Cinderella and that he wants to stay there more, so Emma and Killian both decide to stay with him and help him.
But. Here comes Hook 2. He is from the future, he knows Emma is pregnant and he also knows the curse is coming, he knows what it will happen and he doesn’t want Emma to be there when the curse hits because he doesn’t want her and the baby to be cursed/hurt. Because if the curse will separate them, then Emma and the baby will be left alone and Emma will, once again, be left behind with a baby whose father she wouldn’t know. And we all know Killian wouldn’t want that.
So Hook 2 goes back in time to find Hook 1 and tell him about what is coming and to make him send Emma back to Storybrooke. They fight, because Hook 1 doesn’t believe Hook 2 and doesn’t want to send Emma away, but then Hook 2 tell Hook 1 about the baby.
Hook 1 understands the problem and he explains to Emma that she has to leave, without telling her how he knows about the curse. Emma agrees and she goes back (but before she tells him that she is pregnant and he says “I know”, but that might be just part of the fic world) and this is how they can have Emma in the story and then have a story without Emma. (Also when Emma goes back in Storybrooke, she send Regina in her place.)
Sounds legit, right?
I just really want to write a book (in fact, I think that I’m going to) where the protagonist is in a wheelchair. And they live in a city where there’s a group of superheroes. And there’s a big, magical, villain because of course there is.
And since they were a young child, this protagonist has wanted nothing more than to join the group of superheroes. Like they’re a huge fan of the group and they just know that it’s their destiny to join.
And one day, when wheeling through the city, they see the group of heroes fighting the villain. And they quickly wheel over and cry, “Let me help!”
But the ‘heroes’ laugh and instead make a whole bunch of ableist remarks.
And so the protagonist has to prove themselves.
And the villain is trying to warn them to stop.
But the protagonist ends up taking their footrest off of their wheelchair and they swing it. And it hits the villain in the side of the face and the villain collapses and groans in pain.
And so the protagonist proudly smiles and turns to the group of heroes.
Because they just proved that they are strong and worthy enough.
But the group of ‘heroes’ still keeps making ableist remarks.
And the protagonist is shocked.
And meanwhile, the ‘villain’ staggers to their feet and is standing next to the protagonist’ wheelchair.
And one of the ‘heroes’ goes too far when calling the protagonist the R word.
And the protagonist and the ‘villain’ just sort of glance at one another.
And the ‘villain’ is just like, “You know…I can zap them for you…if you want.”
And the protagonist hesitates and says, “Yeah, alright!”
One fried group of heroes later, the ‘villain’ says, “Why do you think that I’m always fighting them? They’re all a bunch of assholes.”
And the protagonist sadly nods and starts to wheel away.
Then:
“Hey, do you want a job?”
The protagonist turns at the villain’s remark. And the protagonist mumbles something like, “Oh, come on. I don’t need your pity.”
And the ‘villain’ is like, “Pity!? Do I look like someone who hands out pity!? I don’t pity you! I’m kind of afraid of you, to be honest! I mean…I’m going to have a giant bruise on my face because of you.”
“Yeah…sorry…”
“Water under the bridge! So, what do you say? Do you want a job?”
And the protagonist thinks about it for a minute before shrugging.
And the ‘villain’ is all excited because they’ve wanted someone to work with them for years but no mortal is allowed to ‘step into’ their lair.
And then the ‘villain’ stops and is like, “Hang on…you can’t work with me in that.”
And they gesture to the protagonist’s wheelchair.
And the protagonist is all embarrassed.
And then the villain goes, “Because we can get you a much better wheelchair! It’ll look great! And it’ll be indestructible! And it’ll have all sorts of weapons and gadgets! Hey, how do you feel about flying…?”
And all of that is literally in the first chapter and then the rest of the story follows the two going around the city like BAMFs, forcing people to stop being ableist, one way or another. And maybe it’ll have some commentary on the scale of morality and what it truly means to be a hero and what it truly means to be a villain.
Would anyone be interested in this!?
Because I really want to write it!?
YESSSSS. ALL MY YES PLS WRITE IT
I’D READ THE SHIT OUT OF THAT YES PLEASE
OP HERE!
Man, it’s so surreal to look at this.
BECAUSE I ACTUALLY WROTE IT!
AND IT WAS JUST PUBLISHED TONIGHT!
Of course, there are some differences between the final book and this original idea. The most notable difference is that all of this takes place in the first book (it’s going to be a series!) and the whole ‘superhero’ thing is just going to be a front. There’s a few other differences as well (such as a huge plotline involving Merlin and immortal characters!)
BUT I WROTE IT!
AND IT’S PUBLISHED!

“Emma and I were never a pre-destined love story guaranteed a happy ending. We fought for our love and we won.”
“When we met, I wasn’t just unloved and unloving. I was an enemy of love. Love had only brought me pain. My walls were up, but you brought them down. You brought me home.”
“Swan…I know that you face an uncertain future but there’s one thing, I want you to be certain of…that I will always…always be by your side. So, Emma Swan…what do you say? Will you marry me?”

HAS MEDIA HELPED YOU COPE WITH YOUR MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES?
Hi, my name’s Lauren and I’m an 18 year old foundation art student very near the end of my final project. For my project I dealt with the idea of escapism, a ‘tendency to seek distraction and relief from unpleasant realities, especially by seeking entertainment or engaging in fantasy’. I have focused on this idea that different types of media (e.g movies, books, tv shows, fandoms) can sometimes help relieve symptoms of mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety ect.
For my final piece I am creating a hand drawn animated advert promoting a mental heath charity that focuses on these fantasies people like to escape to, it is almost finished however I felt it needed something else which is where i get to the point of why I’m posting this, I was hoping you could help me by: 1. If you feel, social media, tv shows, movies, books, and fandoms ect. have helped you cope with you mental health please like this post :) OR 2. If you are willing would you like to contribute by sending me a couple of sentences, describing how it has helped you, which I would then include in my final outcome?
For the final piece I would be using these words as a backing track for the advert, having them recorded and played along side the animation. You can submit these both anonymously and publicly, and if you wish to be credited I will do so. This final advert is not going to be be published anywhere, and will only be seen my myself and those at my university.
So if you would like to contribute please send me an ask anon or public (if your happy to be credited)
Feel free to ask me any questions!
And please reblog to spread the word!
Thanks, Lauren x
