Labels (ship related)

I am a proshipper, meaning I hold the belief that anybody should be allowed to ship anything they want. I've seen what purity culture does to spaces I’ve been in, and that toxicity is not something I can ever support. From my point of view, antishipping is another form of purity culture and I cannot stand it. It demonizes survivors of abuse, assault, mental illness, etc.

I also participate in comshipping and darkshipping. That means I interact with and enjoy toxic and ‘morally wrong’ ships. I do so for my own reasons, and I have since I began entering fandom spaces (before I knew it had a name!) If that makes you uncomfortable, please feel free to leave and block this page.

I’m anti-harassment when it comes to usual shipcourse, differences in opinions, really anything pertaining to fiction, etc. Don’t like what you see? Block them.

I am not anti-harassment for those who have done certain things that, in my opinion, cross the line and then some outside of fiction. Things like doxxing, sexual misconduct (ex: harassment, abuse, assault), grooming, predatory behavior (especially pertaining to minors), and things of a similar vain will not be tolerated on this blog.

I support the mirroring approach to a certain extent (reflecting the persons words, tone, and threats back at them), call outs, reporting if necessary, and using the block button liberally (going as far as blocking alt accounts) in the case of any of the actions listed in the paragraph above. If the mirroring approach escalates the situation into something that could become dangerous to any party, I believe that is the time to stop and switch how you respond and interact with the situation.

I am multi-fandom, multi-ship, yume/selfship, a writer, and an artist. I’m selective about what art I post here, but keep an eye out for writing.

I used to be very into roleplaying, but I haven’t been active in that space for quite some time.

Yeah, what about it? Propaganda is such a piss poor example of fiction "affecting" reality, but you need to understand why that's such a poor example.

Let me explain:

According to Merriam-Webster, propaganda has two main definitions: "ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one's cause or to damage an opposing cause" and "the spreading of ideas, information, or rumors for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person." Propaganda is a deliberate twisting of fact and fiction, turning ignorance into whatever it would like. It is deliberately meant to confuse and reinforce people's biases and opinions, and it's done to harm or to hinder an opposing force, or to strengthen one's own standing.

Sitting down and acting as if something made specifically to deceive or promote is equivalent to something made to entertain the imagination is a stretch. I'd go as far as to call it nonsensical or a deliberate attempt to pad an argument.

To make it clearer, let me rephrase. Acting as though a tool for manipulation is the same as a tool for imagination is not just you being incorrect; it is you deliberately misunderstanding what fiction and propaganda do and what purpose they serve.

(Also, I want to flag that phrases like "fiction doesn't affect reality" aren't serving the point you think they are. They can be easily misinterpreted. I think a better phrase would be "fiction doesn't teach reality" or "fiction doesn't educate reality.")

Yes, minors can follow! Like you said, please don’t interact with any content that could be taken sexually (I’m a bit more lenient with jokes, posts about the importance of sexual content, etc.)

i'm a victim of CSA perpetuated by my father, which, as a result, means that i've had incestuous intrusive thoughts for almost my entire life. i've had intrusive thoughts about my own family members, ones that scared and distressed me as a young child (obviously). reading and writing incestuous smut has helped lessen those thoughts. yes, i "romanticise" it. yes, i find it attractive. that doesn't make it "harmful", even if it makes you uncomfortable.

the fact is that fiction is a space where i can explore these intrusive thoughts and fantasies safely, without harming myself or others.

(also, everyone reacts to and processes trauma differently, which is exactly why we shouldn't be policing coping mechanisms and acting like they're harmful or helpful to every victim. art therapy doesn't work for you? cool, i hope you find something that does work, but a coping mechanism not working for you doesn't mean that that coping mechanism doesn't work for others. it especially does not mean that you have the right to police people's coping mechanisms and call them "harmful" with zero proof to back your claims. your trauma and your limits are not universal.)
