Violet Manners is an oil on canvas painted circa 1890, the portrait depicts violet manners (Duchess of Rutland). Sir James Jebusa Shannon RA was an Anglo-American artist known for his portraits. Though born in New York, he became one of the leading portraitists of England. Shannon's paintings can be found in several British museums.

The Goldfish Bowl is an oil on canvas painted in 1870 by Charles Edward Perugini (1839-1918). Charles Edward Perugini, born Carlo Perugini, was a Romantic and Victorian-era Italian-English painter. He spent many years studying art in Italy before moving to England to continue his education. Perugini was influenced by neo-classical art and it shows in his portraits of ancient Greece and Rome.

Pandora is an oil on canvas painted in 1872 by Jules Joseph Lefebvre. It depicts Pandora from the Greek myth, Pandora's Box. In the myth, Pandora opens the box out of curiosity and accidentally releases all kinds of evil on humanity. Jules Lefebvre was a French figure painter and portraitist. He was one of the leading academic artists of his time. Some of his other acclaimed paintings are Graziella (1878) and the Grasshopper (1872).

Night and Her Daughter Sleep is an oil on canvas painted by Mary Lizzie Macomber in 1902. The painting has allegories of death, time, sleep, and night. Mary Lizzie Macomber (1861-1916) was an American painter known for her symbolic and ethereal paintings. She painted many allegorical pieces in the Pre-Raphaelite style but also painted portraits later in her career. Some of her other prominent paintings are Love Awakening Memory (1892), Love’s Lament (1893), and The Hour Glass (1900).

The Black Brook // John Singer Sargent (c. 1908)

The Black Brook is an oil on canvas painted by John Singer Sargent circa 1908. The portrait depicts Sargent's niece (Rose-Marie Ormond), one of the painter's favourite subjects. Sargent was an American artist known for his portraits. His works are influenced by 18th-century portraitists Velázquez and Van Dyck. He painted about 900 oil paintings, over 2,000 watercolours, and countless sketches and charcoal drawings.

Osaka Castle // Hiroshi Yoshida (1935)

Osaka Castle was printed in 1935 by Hiroshi Yoshida (1876–1950), it depicts Osaka Castle in Osaka, Japan. During the 20th century, Yoshida was a renowned Japanese painter and woodblock printmaker. He is well known for his landscape prints and for being a pioneer Shin Hanga movement which revitalized traditional Japanese woodblock printing in the early 1900s. In spite of his extensive knowledge of Western style, he remained loyal to traditional Japanese techniques and practice.
