Yesterday while I put on my make up to be ready for meetings, Violetta likes to stand on the sink next to me and look in the mirror. She is very much wanting to look exactly like me lately. She was upset her hair isn’t dark like mine. Or her eyebrows... or her body. She is mad she doesn’t have breasts yet. Lol I held her in my lap and told her how beautiful she is inside and out. And when I was a little girl my hair was exactly like hers now. And her eyebrows are beautiful (which omg they are) and mommy has to put on her eyebrows because of have an accident with wax being too hot. Lol (true story great waxing incident of 2013) and that I wish my eyebrows were like hers. Then I told her she won’t get boobies till much much older lol. (She just likes me cause I am squishy lol) we had a big discussion about how every body is born unique and special, everyone has a different body, hair, skin, eyes. Smile. I told her how some people are tall and some short. Some people are skinny and some are squishy like mommy. But it doesn’t mean one way is the right way. Because no one is supposed to be the same. The world would be so boring if we were all the same. She listened for a long time. I kissed her baby nose and gave her hugs. I asked her if she could tell me back, what I said to her. And she said, “everyone is different and I am beautiful.” I think she got the message. I never ever talk bad about myself around the girls or anyone. So i was surprised she was thinking this and so upset. She interpreted make up as me not thinking I was beautiful as I was. It is making me think very long and hard about that. #momlife #motherhood #parenthood #mommies #strongwomen #empoweredwomen #empowerment (at Los Angeles, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/By5DB3XnUst/?igshid=1tdxdrkoasfh7
