You actually cannot skip to being good at a creative endeavour that you haven't put much practice into. You cannot trick your way out of the 'knows that your work is not what you want it to be but don't know how to improve it' stage by planning or reading or talking about it really really hard. At some point you just have to craft through it until your brain finds it's own unique way back to the 'everything I make slaps' stage and be prepared to start the cycle all over again. You just have to make that project you're excited about slightly less good than you want it to be. (Says this standing in a pool of blood and covered in blood and also coughing up a little blood)

Fandom has existed longer than YouTube has. It will continue to exist longer than YouTube will. It's okay to notice the change happening in online communities as the consumption of media shifts. It's also okay to honor where your community came from compared to where it is today. In the end, fandom is for you and whoever you want to share it with. You are responsible for your own actions and you can curate your internet experiences, but you cannot control others.

Be reasonable. Understand that when you put something on the internet, it might gather unwanted attention. There are ways to protect yourself against that, and create a more positive space for yourself.

Be kind. Understand that you are not required to interact with things you don't like. With many different types of ages and backgrounds on the internet, it is often correct to assume you can mind your own business and ignore individuals that don't match your style. No one gains anything from being unkind. It's unhealthy to be continuously upset by things on the screen, when you have the option to avoid it.

This is all. Take care of yourself and the people you love. Remember your values. Take deep, slow breaths. Okay, I love you, goodnight.
