Me to my family
"love is love", "you just haven't found the right person yet", "you're too young to be sure", "i could never be aroace", "love is human", "aroace people aren't actually queer", " *aroace representation* omg look at this ACE rep", "how do you even live without romance/sex", "y'all are just inhumane", "what if you fall in love", "the a on lgbtia is for allies", *ships aroace character with another character*
yeah no obviously, aphobia isn't normalized at all
so weâre all familiar with the little animations that happen during important romantic scenes
but letâs talk about Issac. Issac spends most of the season confused about his sexuality and feeling that something is wrong with him.
When he discovers asexuality at the art school, he gets the leaf animation weâre used to seeing for the couples. When the art about crush culture is being explained to him, Issac can see that the artist is proud of being asexual; eager to explain his identity to a stranger viewing his piece. He is overwhelmed with the fact that he not only isnât broken, but that his sexuality is something someone could be so proud of having.
The leaves still represent love, but instead of romantic love, itâs self love.
ok. :]
being aro and ace is so hard when people have no ability to grasp that romance and sex are only options, not absolutes
Wait a minute why are acespec ppl always represented by robots when allos are the ones saying stuff âturns them on/off?â
(Btw, this is a positive post if youâre looking for one!)
Iâm aroace, and one of my best friends is bi. Weâre both in the same year of high school, and she was the first one of our friend group to get a boyfriend. When she did, I was really scared sheâd abandon us, but she didnât! She didnât make him her main priority, and she stuck with us.
We have this inside joke thingy for some reason that weâre platonically married and we adopted one of our other friends as our child, and she has never. Stopped. Saying that. Even when she had a boyfriend! She told me today that no matter what, even when/if she gets a romantic partner, Iâll always be her platonic spouse, and I am SO HAPPY! Itâs kinda stupid, but Iâm so happy that our weird half-joking found family matters to her! Sheâs not gonna put romance over friendship! Our friendship matters! I wonât be alone, people wonât leave me for romantic love, MY AROACE SELF REALLY MATTERS!

Hi I want to vent. Sorry in advance lol
I'm officially the only single person in my friend group and I've got mixed feelings about it.
A good part of me (like 99.99%) is okay with it, really. My friends know me and respect me (and by that I mean me being aroace) and their partners are all cool and nice so really we can all hang out just fine. But turns out sometimes I get really self conscious of the fact that they're all with their s/o and I'm not. I'm alone. And I don't have a problem being alone, I've been alone my whole life and I like it! But being in a group where everyone else is part of a set feels kinda weird. Makes me wonder, why am I not part of a set? Is there anything wrong with me? I don't think so. But, do other people think there's something wrong with me? I'm not sure, sadly.
And the funny thing is that I don't want a partner. It might be cool, I guess, but I'm okay without one, I'm comfortable. I feel like I just want to have someone who would look for me in a crowd of people, someone who would miss me when I'm not there, someone who would want to spend time with me and enjoy doing so. Someone who won't leave me alone when everyone else is walking home with their partner.
I've never told this to anyone out of fear they will want to lecture me about opening up to relationships, or think that I'm whining, or feel sorry for me and think that I feel lonely. I don't feel lonely. I'm happy being as I am, and I'm terribly happy for my friends and their respective relationships. I'll keep hanging out with them enjoying as much as I can. It's just that I have this thoughts sometimes, and they're less than pleasant. I don't know.
I hope that if anyone out there is also feeling this way, please know you're not alone. I get you and we'll figure it out. I feel you and we'll be okay. Thank you for reading đ¤đ¤đ¤

Sleepy Bitch Disease Flag - When youâre always just so tired.
reminder that kazurei is not platonic nor romantic. they are a secret third thing
not submission. I really hate the "My OC, my rules" thing. Cause like, no? Just because they are your oc doesn't mean you can do whatever you want with them. If you want to make your oc suffer and not like them get help, you deserve to lose rights over them. Especially if you only do that stuff to purposely trigger people. Once you do that, your oc no longer belongs to you. they belong to the public who will take better care of them instead
Making a comment to get this to post.
You do not get to take someone elseâs OCs for yourself just because you donât like how their creator is treating them.
Iâm absolutely adding this to my Online Entitlement collection. Raymondâs already on there.
im not a people pleaser anymore im a huge cunt now
me after setting one (1) boundary
i feel like being aroace deters me from having close meaningful relationships with people. like, i love my friends and i want to give them everything, but i can't express my feelings fully in fear of it seeming romantic. maybe i'm actually alloro or demi without knowing it, but since i can't really differentiate between romantic and platonic attraction i just can't tell and it makes me more uncertain and afraid arghhhh. because romantic attraction seems as such a blurry concept that has a lot in common with platonic attraction and it's much harder to define and understand than sexual attraction. i'm always afraid to overstep some sort of boundary that i don't understand.

"being aromantic isn't sad! being aromantic isn't lonely!" new mindset. being aromantic is sexy. being aromantic is beautiful. being aromantic is wonderful
itâs aromantic week which means all your aro headcanons are canon
I donât know if I actually want a qpr or if my amatanormative brain just wants a partner even if itâs platonic.
I love my friends and they mean a lot to me, and even though I always said âI want to marry my best friendâ I donât think thatâs true. Just a way to justify me not wanting a romantic relationship. I think I would be content living my own life and having good friends. I donât need to solidify that by being basically married platonically. I think I just treated a qpr as a replacement for the societal expectation that you need marriage to be happy.
Of course qprs and aros who actually want them are valid af. But Iâm starting to realize that life might not be for me.
