First Blog “What to Expect”

I have never been a fan of musicians or entertainers who shuv their political/ moral beliefs down your throat. Leonardo DiCaprio has made some great films but I would rather go to him for stock market tips than recycling tips. Stormzy speaks fast and looks mean but mean enough to influence how I vote? As for Bono, you get my point. This is the reason I have always tried to keep my social media strictly boxing related. People knew me and followed me for boxing, so thats what I gave them.

However, I had a stroke; I then had more questions, publicity and support than my lifetime of blood sweat and tears in a boxing ring ever attracted. This showed me something. It showed me a lot of things but the thing it taught me most relevant here is: people want to relate.

Ricky Gervais has a joke where he announces he is a recovering alcoholic and gets a clap, before stating he would get heckled if he announced he never had a drink in his life. People want to know that someone else is struggling too. Someone else is in the ring fighting all life has to throw at them everyday, just like them. Taking a metaphorical right hand on the jaw from time to time, constantly getting jabbed on the nose and their head snapped back. Someone else has been knocked down and got back up, just like them.

Watching Leo make millions and snort out of a hookers ass is great until the film ends. What then? This blog will attempt to answer. It will also tell you how I have tried to answer this question my whole life. Thoughts, ideas, stories, mistakes, right knowledge, wrong knowledge, observations and more. I have decided to give more than boxing and have twenty years to catch up on. However, I still prefer to watch Leo crash a Lamborghini than preach to me about the planet for now.

Is it bad that I have lost track of how to use Facebook? I find an irony in the fact it’s hard to earn a living as a health professional if you don’t spend a lot of time on a screen!!!
