SASUKE UCHIHA & DAENERYS TARGARYEN: The Revolutionary Duo
(A Rant and an Appreciation Post)
I'm not doing a comparison; I'm here to lay out the evidence that they are two sides of the same glorious, misunderstood coin. They are the Rebel Gods who dared to challenge the status quo, and the narrative tried to paint them as villains BS.
Here are the FACTS about why they are kindred revolutionaries :
1. The 'Sibling Tax' (AKA The Shit Brother Club)
* Daenerys: Her brother, Viserys, was an abusive, entitled parasite who literally sold her for an army. The man was trash. Dany overcame him and walked into the fire.
* Sasuke: His brother, Itachi, committed mass murder, forced Sasuke down a lifelong path of vengeance, manipulation, trauma, and then acted like a cryptic, abusive saint about it.
> They both had to overcome or reckon with a 'family' member who inflicted unimaginable, life-altering pain, which tragically fueled their path to greatness.
>
2. The Fire and Blood Aesthetic
* Daenerys: The literal embodiment of Fire and Blood. Her sigil is a red three-headed dragon on black.
* Sasuke: The Uchiha clan's symbol is a fan, often shown in red and white, and their core power, the Sharingan, is intensely red. They literally master fire-style Jutsu!
> Their identities are built on the visceral, revolutionary power of Red the color of passion, war, and the justified quest for justice.
>
3. The Great Liberators
* Daenerys: The Breaker of Chains! She liberated thousands of slaves across Essos, dismantling centuries-old, monstrous systems of oppression. She gave freedom back to the voiceless.
* Sasuke: After Orochimaru's defeat, Sasuke effectively freed the prisoners and test subjects trapped by the Sannin, giving them back their liberty and a chance at a new life.
> Both recognized that the current established powers were corrupt and rotten. They were ready to BURN IT ALL DOWN to make way for a better world.
>
4. The Weight of Legacy (Last of Their Kind)
* Daenerys: The Last Dragon, the 'Queen of the World,' the 'Unburnt.' She is the destined ruler, carrying the burden of a destroyed house.
* Sasuke: The Last Uchiha, the reincarnate of Indra, and wielder of the Rinnegan. He is literally a legendary figure carrying the weight of his entire extinct clan.
> They didn't ask for this extreme power or this immense burden, but they wielded it to change the world, which is exactly why the established powers found them terrifying.
> 5. The Public Execution of Hope
This is the point where mercy dies. Both Daenerys and Sasuke suffered the ultimate insult: the public, politically motivated execution of someone dear to them. This proved, beyond all doubt, that diplomacy was worthless, and compromise was weakness. > You cannot negotiate with a snake; you must cut off its head. Their final decisions were simply an act of necessary self-defense against a world that only spoke the language of violence.
The Final Betrayal: Misunderstood Justice
This is the part that kills me:
Both characters, after years of trauma, fighting, and revolutionary acts, finally reach the climax of their power only to be portrayed as tyrants or villains who need to be "stopped" for the sake of "peace."
* Dany torches King's Landing (a city that refused to follow her, refused justice, and held her enemy) and is instantly framed as the 'Mad Queen.'
* Sasuke plans his necessary 'Revolution' to dismantle the corrupt system, and he is framed as an enemy who needs to be defeated to protect the existing, flawed order.
It wasn't madness. It was the final act of revolutionaries who realized the old world won't be saved it has to be destroyed.
They were fighting for systemic justice, and the narrative rewarded them with character assassination. They deserved to rule their new worlds, not be demonized for having the strength to create them.
At the end, they're both the GOAT of their series.
My account is not a safe space for Daenerys OR Sasuke haters DPMO.
