Hello sleepless night, I haven’t missed you.
Went good for awhile. Too much on my mind right now. Why even bother at this point? Long day ahead.

This is the kind of shit you see in anime that shows that a certain character is stronger than other characters.
“Pathetic. You can’t even hold the bat you dare step to the plate? Have you no respect for the sport?”

Full drawing of Etna by Takehito Harada that was uploaded recently. Until this was posted we only got to see the top half of this drawing in the Disgaea games.
Since the full pic is available now, I’d like to point out some things about her new (3rd) design that I love.
1. smug status: eternal

i had a dream that i was solid snake workin at taco bell
“Uhhhh, can I get a doritos locos taco?”
“Doritos locos taco… Colonel, what’s the procedure?”
“That’s a taco with a special shell, Snake – made not from an ordinary corn tortilla but designed to evoke the famous tortilla chip, packed with extreme flavor. Substitute the shell and prepare the rest of the taco normally.”
“Got it. Excuse me, customer. There’s both Cool Ranch and Nacho Cheese shells here. Which would you prefer?”
“Cool ranch, please.”
“On it.”
can we get david hayter in on this

The chimera I designed for our new LEGO show. I cannot express how much of a labor of love this was. It took over 100 hours just to design, let alone build and is one of the largest and most complex sculptures I’ve done.
Fun fact: This model used every single LEGO color available in standard brick.
please for the love of god tell me this is glued together because even the hypothetical possibility of someone knocking it over is giving me four heart attacks
WOW what a huge response this has gotten! I am humbled. There have been a ton of questions and I’ll try to answer all of them.
Because these models are produced for public display, as in the public can touch them, pull on them…hang off them, we are required to glue them due to health and safety regulations. If we didn’t someone could get seriously hurt. A lot of people say this is cheating but the fact of the matter is you wouldn’t get to see things like this in public spaces if we didn’t do it. That is the price we have to pay to let people enjoy these models up close. They also have to pass a huge set of health and safety tests including applying 25 kilos of force to any protruding parts to ensure they do not break or even crack.
We also have to design a steel structure which sits inside the model. The LEGO is built around this like flesh over a skeleton but not actually touching or resting on the steel, it’s there to give the whole model stability so it doesn’t tip over. Even just a few thousand LEGO bricks is extremely heavy, we’ve had models where the LEGO structure has ended up resting on the steel and has actually bent the steel out of shape.
This is what the model looks like in LEGO’s in house software for creating large models.
And this is what the steel structure looks like inside.
This model, due to its size, does have detachable parts, namely the dragon head and the tail. This is so the model can be moved through a standard double door and can be transported.
In its complete state the model measures up at 2.8m long, 1.7m wide (from dragon head to goat head) and 2.1m tall.
And lastly, you can currently see this model and many others in the Milestones Museum in Basingstoke UK. After that the entire show will be travelling to various venues including shows like Brick Live up and down the country.
I hope that answers most of the questions and provides some insight to how these get made!
