#personal #it's the perfect balance of creative freedom + clear parameters + constant inspo + low stakes deadline + gift giving #i am having so much fun and i can't believe the only thing that stopped me from joining previously was a lack of ref sheets #which i know now is TRULY a non-issue #if anyone out there wants to join AF but worries they don't have 'good enough' references #do not let that stop you!!#you don't need ref sheets. you don't even need multiple drawings of your character #just throw them in the ring and see what happens #also genuinely the most fun part about AF isn't even receiving art. it's making art for other people #i really wish i could draw fasterrrrr i wish i could draw for every single person i follow

🌊 My piece for Volume 3 of Sing, O Muse! Across Wine Dark Seas, which covers scenes from the Trojan War and its aftermath. The zine will be available in July and I highly recommend keeping an eye on the account in readiness for its release. There is SO MUCH gorgeous art inside!

I chose to draw the goddess Thetis beseeching Hephaestus to forge armour for her son Achilles. I think the bond between these two is quite lovely, with Hephaestus feeling indebted to Thetis for helping him in his hour of need, and willingly returning the favour.
