The Path Chosen progress update - as of 7th Feb, 2026!

As of now, there are like 20 chapters uploaded in The Path Chosen out of the promised 40. Now, 20 more chapters seems like a lot, but I have wonderful news! I've completed a really big chunk of it already! Each of the chapters is well-outlined, and many are already written/are being written. Yes, even the ending chapters. It's all slowly but surely coming together.

I am unsure when I will be uploading the next chapter. I would like to finish a few more chapters before I upload again. Also because this gives me more plot flexibility. Once I've completed all or like 90% of the rest of the story, I will start uploading much, much more frequently. There's also the problem of school. Lot's of upcoming tests and homework AGAIN. Lots of assigments. This is actually what has had me 'speedrunning' though these chapters, honestly - I realize I have to end this whole fanfiction thing. Things are getting more and more serious. And I have to start thinking about university...

PS: I also still haven't yet found a beta reader yet, so that's still open for anyone willing.

I have an announcement to make...

So, I REALLY didn't want to have to do this, but unfortunately, I have no choice but to go on hiatus.

With the first semester of school ending, and other things (like possible art commissions and other family-related business, as well as my own struggles with mental health (probably the biggest problem of all ngl), and just literally so. much. school work IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE THAT'S JUST SO HARD), I simply don't have the time to write anymore. Every night, I go to bed at nearly midnight. I used to write a bit before bed, but now I literally just crawl under my sheets all exhausted, mentally and physically.

It honestly saddens me as much as it probably saddens you all, currently following The Path Chosen. This does NOT mean the end by any means. The story WILL be finished. I simply need some time, space, to clear my head, which feels like such a dense jungle of information rn. Burnout. Just utter burnout. And an ed on top of that. yay.

I hope to finally sit down and write Severitus in peace again some day soon.

HOWEVER.

Given that it is the holiday season, I will try to upload a rather festive chapter right before Christmas. After that, however, I'm not sure how long it'll take me to upload again. Especially since the following chapters are really tangled and complicated, cuz of timelines and plot holes and stuff.

The Path Chosen. A snippet of chapter 19👀👀👀

Before Harry could give it any measure of thought, he was already stumbling over his pooled blankets and turned-over trunk contents lying strewn on the floor, fumbling with his glasses to sit on his face. He didn't even bother with his wand. It didn’t matter. 

He made it down to the darkened common room, then out into the corridor outside, lit only by the moonlight filtering through the towering arcade windows.

McGonagall’s office was up the moving stairs on his right. The dungeons were down, on his left. Beyond all logical reasoning, his feet turned left.

Sptember 17th - a little progress update...

Finished writing another chapter I had been struggling with (for two months) just this morning, when I had a free minute. School's becomming all cray-cray again, and it makes me want to cry-cry. Y'all get me?

Anyway, no idea when the next upload is gonna be. Probably once I'm at least half-way through writing chapter 22.

Also, the fact that Two Weeks has now reached over 100k hits is INSANE to me. Like - actually. It's an indescribable feeling. Thank you all SO MUCH. I can't believe my writing has gotten so popular😭✨

That said, hope you're all having a good semester! Until my next post:)

Progress update!

The next chapter for The Path Chosen is being polished up, and is almost ready for upload, though I might not be able to upload it indefinitely, cuz I'm going somewhere remote, and there might not always be internet. Im also gonna have nothing but my phone on me, so no laptop, and my phone is quite a nightmare to write on...

Progress update!

Yay, I'm alive! I've had a school trip recently. Literally didn't sleep for two nights straight working on a painting there in the studio - no, it's still not finished. So I've been busy... again. Yes, yes. AGAIN. But school's practically out, so ima have a ton of time now!!!!!!!

It's been excruciatingly slow-going with writing, though. I'm working on chapter 18 as of this moment, and it's pretty dialogue-heavy, so it's especially time-consuming. I sometimes manage a few sentences a day, not gonna lie. But any progress is better than no progress! Persevering over here! Not sure when the next chapter is going to be up, but hopefully soon. Probably when I finish writing this current chapter. So, no, I am not dead, and no, I have not abandoned this fic. Things have just been a bit slow as of late.

1 May, 2025 - The Path Chosen progress update!

I've been so busy this past week that I have not had a chance to really write anything IN DAYS. The most I did was jot down a few micro scenes in a notebook🥲 Now that I have a little more than a week off, I finally have a chance to sit down and write, but it's a very long process. Writing block's hit hard. Have to slowly ease into it, get the feel of writing again - not just 'writing', but ✨yummy, quality writing✨. Apologies to everyone for the long wait😩 Just know that I haven't suddenly gone poof.

I've also very recently celebrated my 18th birthday! Such a milestone, it's still kinda hard to wrap my head around that😅🥳

Happy Easter + fic progress update for The Path Chosen!

Hope all of you have a wonderful Easter break! Letting you all know that I've just finished writing chapter 16 - and am really happy with how it turned out:) Not sure when the next chapter will be up, though, so you may have to wait a bit longer for that. Needs a bit of patching up, as usual.

The Path Chosen - fic progress update! (19 Feb, 2025)

I have a few chapters pre-written, but they still need a lot of dusting and polishing. The current chapter I am writing is also a bit slow-going (lots of dialogue😊). I guess what I'm trying to say is that you guys may have to wait a lil' longer for the next chapter.

Meanwhile, from a little ways from him, Severus’s mouth was equally dry. Guilt… The guilt was once more resurging, tenfold more than it ever had. It felt as though he were finally facing some kind of unidentified haunting demon.

And he knew this was only the beginning.

The man said nothing for as long as the boy stood there, still as the statue before him. But eventually, they continued on. How or when — it all seemed a blur.

And as Severus led the way, his every step felt heavier and heavier.

It's been pretty hectic with school again. Unfortunately, there won't be a new chapter this weekend. Trying to get in as much writing as time allows me, but I have like 4 tests coming up... But this is the last week - the last stretch -, and then ima have a whopping 2 weeks off! Gonna write a bunch then - and upload:D Stay tuned!
