If you think that transgender men and transmasculine nonbinary people talking about the general oppression and misogyny they face under the patriarchy is inherently them playing the victim and dismissing their gender identity in order to do so, congratulations, you are transphobic and you will not listen to any amount of intersectionality or nuance in these conversations.
Transgender men and transmasculine nonbinary people inherently experience misogyny and general oppression under the patriarchy. Inherently. They are inherently an oppressed group under the patriarchy. That is not just due to their transgender identity, but also due to their transmasculine gender identity specifically.
You guys vastly and greatly overestimate the male privilege that transgender men and transmasculine non-binary people get once they transition into a masculine gender identity. It is only social privilege. That social privilege can be taken away at any point if someone becomes aware of the fact that they are talking to a transgender person. That's social privilege may not exist at all if the transgender person in question is gender non-conforming, nonpassing, or another set of factors such as if they are of a certain race or body type and so on.
While women are most definitely the main targets of misogyny and general oppression under the patriarchy, that does not mean they are the only people who are affected negatively by the patriarchy. That does not mean that they are the only people who experience any forms of misogyny or general oppression under the patriarchy.
If a transgender woman came onto this app and talked about her genuine struggles with being a transgender woman specifically, instead of just being a woman or just being transgender, the intersectionality of the trans feminine experience, I doubt half of you would say that she is denying her own gender identity as a transgender woman because "(cisgender) women don't experience that".
When you talk about how "men don't experience this", "men don't experience that", you are referring to cisgender, often white, gender conforming and heterosexual men inside of the gender binary. Whether you know or not, that is the group that you are referring to and that is the box that you are forcing transmasculine people, no matter their race, sexual orientation, or other factors, into.
Transmasculine people do not hold the same amount of privilege, power or other factors as their cisgender counterparts. And if you think that is inherently misgendering, you are a transphobic asshole who will only listen and respect the intersectional identities that you personally experience or understand.
Being someone who experiences misogyny, whether you be transgender or cisgender, does not erase your ability to act on misogyny, nor does it make you the perfect speaking voice of marginalization who can dictate other people's identities. Internalized misogyny and nuance exists.
Being transgender, whether you be transfeminine, transmasculine, transneutral or a part of another category, does not erase your ability to act on transphobia, nor does it make you the perfect speaking voice of marginalization who can dictate other transgender people's identities. Internalized transphobia and nuance exists.
Also transgender men and transmasculine people are erased, not invisible, that is a difference.
