A unspoken claim inherent in the way people use "tme" and talk about why transandrophobia can't exist is the idea that a bad thing can't happen to someone because they are trans masc.

Get followed into bathrooms? Called slurs in public? Catcalled? Sexually harassed? Banned from doctors offices? Banned from sports? Stalked?

This is simply misdirected transmisogyny. If they knew you were AFAB they'd leave you alone.

Get raped? Forced pregnancy? Abortion bans? Medical mistreatment? Childhood trauma? Be ignored and dismissed when speaking?

This is all just because of default misogyny that affects cis women worse.

Be told you have to be strong and you exist to protect others? No one believes you speaking out about sexual assault because men are supposed to want that? Myths about testosterone being a poison that makes people violent? Jokes about hate all men?

There is no overlap. There is no possibility of your being a trans man changing how people abuse you. No considering hatred of trans people hatred of femininity and hatred of masculinity could combine to hurt trans men specifically.

Y'all have got to stop using Shinigami Eyes. It's been co-opted by multiple exclusionary groups at this point, and like with 99% of the other interactions you will be having with people, you need to decide for yourself whether that is someone you want to be able to interact with you.

i know of an intersex transfem whos beliefs are more similar to yours than mine. fae reblogs mostly stuff about transfeminism, uses the terms tma and tme in discussions, talks a lot about how transfems are affected by transmisogyny. these arent bad things, im not saying these to paint faer in a bad light, just that fae is more aligned with yall than me. but apparently, faes marked red in shinigami eyes so no, even by that standard, its not that reliable

okay, its the most telling lineup because its genderqueer while not being strictly transfeminine? like, just because its not focused on transfeminine experiences doesnt mean its not worth talking about. also, its not strictly transfeminine but it can include transfeminine experiences. if theres a browser extension made by autistic people and its criticized for being harmful to autistic and ocd people, those being focused on neurodivergence that doesnt center autism doesnt make the criticism bad. it also doesnt make it anti autism. and a lot of autistic peoples neurodivergence intersects with the other two, so its not a clear statement of "us" vs "them" either i guess to summarize this part, there are transfems who are affected by transandrophobia, exorsexism, and intersexism.

a significant number of tmes get upset when they get called out on their transmisogyny and get super defensive over it, viewing it as encroaching on their status of permanent victimhood

okay, you pointed out that nonbinary transfems and intersex transfems exist. ive seen intersex as well as nonbinary transfems talk about intersexism and exorsexism (some even talk about transandrophobia), so no, these criticisms arent just from upset "tmes". also, even if it is, they can still criticize something for being exorsexist or intersexist. and not everyone who gets marked red on shinigami eyes is a transmisogynistic tme. on my example earlier, i mentioned an intersex transfem transfeminist whos marked red. while fae doesnt complain about it, i do have problems with shinigami eyes being presented as a reliable indicator of whos a transmisogynist and who isnt.

and so they willfully misunderstand all of it. all of the terminology and what it means. what tme/tma are, what transmisogyny is, how intersectionality functions and so on. and so they make posts complaining about it, which by all means - everyone's entitled to vent, even if they're completely wrong in what they're saying. (if it stayed there that'd be amazing but often they take that defensiveness as justification to harass us, painting themselves as the victims at the same time)

i know that people like those exist. i know a lot of awful people harass transfems and transfeminists. i do not condone their actions, and from what ive seen from other people, so do most of the people talking about transandrophobia, intersexism, and exorsexism. if there are people from these communities, its completely valid to complain about them. but its extremely misleading to paint these communities as transmisogynists. and its even more harmful to paint the idea of these oppressions being talked about as signs of a transmisogynist. transmisogyny is a big problem in the trans community, queer community, and society as a whole. but not every kind discussion about oppression is in response to that.

also, ive seen a transfeminist openly start a harassment campaign to drive a transmasc into deleting his blog and her community celebrated it when it happened. it would be absurd for me to project that behavior to the entire transfeminist movement. the community is made up of different kinds of people, all with different ideas on whats okay and whats not okay. if someones okay with using her riling up her community to flood somoenes dms and asks with harassment, that doesnt mean everyone else is okay with it.

conclusion, uhh.. talking about transandrophobia, exorsexism, and intersexism isnt an opposition to talking about transmisogyny. there are intersections to these, theyre all important issues to discussions. criticisms against a transfeminist extension isnt a criticism against transfeminism as a whole. and actions from a couple people from a community doesnt directly reflect the intentions of the community as a whole.
