Who do you think has the more elaborate hair routine, Elain or Lucien?
I really imagine Elain as effortless without trying- the kind of woman you low key kind of hate because her skin is always glowing, her hair is always perfect
Lucien has to work a little harder for effortless glossy hair
come what may in terms of shipping in the next books, what i really want to see is elain go from being “the nice one” to being genuinely kind. because i don’t think she is (and this is part of why i like her so much). i don’t think she’s malicious or mean, but her passivity and tendency for self-preservation lend themselves to unintentional cruelty and i’d really like to see her have to reckon with that. she’s nice, she’s sweet, she’s gentle, she has a good heart, but she’s ultimately very self-centred and it gets in the way of the good she’s inclined towards and clearly wants to do.
this is just a throwaway thought, but as it’s a point i see brought up against her a lot, i wanted to share my thoughts on it. i’m not bringing it up against her because, again, it’s one of the things i like about her. i don’t want to say that she thinks she can do no wrong, but it does seem to me like she’s unaware of how hurtful she can be and i’d really like that to be part of her arc. but i also don’t trust sjm not to be awful with it & punish her for it in the way she punished nesta for her sharp edges. idk.
hope this made sense. and it’s very much pro elain despite focusing on her more negative traits!
why does no one talk about the fact that the events of acotar would never have happened if tamlin hadn’t loved lucien more than he feared amarantha. like,,,bro doomed his whole court because amarantha hurt lucien. i know everyone talks about how rhys went under the mountain to protect his friends, but no one ever talks about tamlin’s love for lucien literally kickstarting the events of acotar.
