I understand that everyone explains the lyrics in their own way, but why aren't we talking about the fact that LGBTQ+ people can directly associate themselves with this song? Yeah, yeah, I know, we always trying to see homosexual undertones, but?? Did you actually read the lyrics??
They do not use the words girl or any other pronouns other than you. Their lyrics are literally gender neutral. There are generally no these traditional expressions and phrases that would at least hint at gender.
They talk about how they are not accepted because of differences. They talk about prejudice and condemnation from a particular person or society as a whole. They talk about how they are repelled and not accepted because of differences, which in general are not even distinguishing features.
And a tattoo is something permanent, something that you cannot remove (metaphorically, okay) and in some countries it is a taboo. This is literally a label, because of which society can judge you and make premature wrong conclusions about you. And this can be a metaphor for the person’s sexual orientation?...
