It’s been quite a while since I’ve shared ESS progress, so here’s a couple screenshots for you guys! 

Major changes -

- I’ve ditched portraits/busts entirely in favor of the speech bubbles. I personally vastly prefer them.

- Major cutscenes are now in motion comic format. 

- Laurel, Cecil, and Andromeda have finally been completely fleshed out and written. They’ve also been given a bit of an aesthetic tweak to match.

- Quinn is… Pretty much the same.

I’m really excited about this. The game is starting to reach towards what I had in mind when I first began working on it. 

I would tentatively like to have a demo out in January, but we’ll have to see how development through December goes. Thank you for reading and giving feedback, it’s always appreciated :)

SOLUTION REACHED!

@greenalpha , though some stroke of luck, had an unused tablet that was the exact one I was working for. He’ll be mailing it to me this week of course at a nice cost (and for those who donated, don’t worry. It technically went towards the tablet, so thank you VERY MUCH FOR YOUR KINDNESS!!)

So sometime around this Friday, I should be able to get back into the swing of things! Thank you all so much!

NO you guys don’t understand, the entire book is like this. They tried to cram in all sorts of representation of different races and the art is gorgeous and it’s GREAT! The picture for a spellcaster is a female human who is wearing BAGGY, NON-SEXUALIZED CLOTHING AND NO MAKEUP because she’s in a dungeon, she doesn’t have time to do her hair cmon.

Busted tablet, need some assistance!

Ffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccccccckkkkkk

My lil monoprice tablet died. The cord can no longer read the tablet, and when it barely manages to, it’s still unusable as all hell. Not to mention, the pen is on its last legs and keeps falling apart.

I REALLY hate to do this, but due to things being really tight right now, and not making enough to replace this easily, I might need some assistance so I can get a new tablet. I have a game I need to start making assets for as well as things I owe people. While I’m struggling to get my motivation back, I can’t afford to extend this hiatus now that there’s more that I need to do.

The tablet I’m eyeing is the Huion H610 Pro, and it stands at a pretty good price of 72.99. From what I heard, that’s a steal.

After 6-8 hours of screaming, I finally managed to paint a picture, with none other than Kotaru as my test subject!

(If I can be honest, I was actually fueled by spite due to a recent conversation I had with someone, and it worked in my favor.)

While city backgrounds are daunting yet fun, forest backgrounds are therapeutic. This is the first time I’ve tried to draw something eroded and with moss covering it, and I’ve experimented with ALL sorts of brushes that I didn’t know I HAD, and my god the finished result…

As for the logo, I didn’t want to do anything that looked complicated like Shisenota’s logo. For a simple project, I felt that it needed a simple logo :)

Now that I have the cover out, I’ll start planning for pages to be released *nod nod* If you go to my profile, you can support me on Patreon or give me a ko-fi!

Volko is one of the few humanoid Refuse friends that Menos has lived with in the ruins. Childish, wild and with a big appetite, Volko isn’t very good at English and talks in broken sentences, unlike Menos who deliberately chooses to not talk much. Volko is certainly a friend and he means well…even though he might occasionally bite down on Menos’ leg for a “taste test” :P
