Facebook twitter Dear Polia on Blogger Nadia Palacios Lauterbach About the author: Nadia grew up in Chinandega, Nicaragua and received a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, USA. Before starting her own Design Consulting Studio, Nadia worked for some of the premier practitioners of Classical and Traditional Architecture in America: Duany Plater-Zyberk Architects and Town Planners, in Washington DC; The Office of Thomas N. Rajkovich Architect, in Chicago; and Curtis and Windham Architects, in Houston. Nadia enjoys traveling and has a soft spot for Rome, Italy, where she studied some time ago, learned to speak Italian and fell in love with spaghetti alla carbonara. She greatly enjoys ziplining from trees and diving off the side of active volcanoes. In her free time she steals herself to do some sketching, and to dance and sing Flamenco at a local theatre. Nadia lives with her husband in The Heights neighborhood of Houston in a 1920's bungalow, and she specializes in the design and creation of homes and gardens. She is a professional member of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art, and an associate member of the Texas Society of Architects and the American Institute of Architects.
