There was so much going on after this that it got overshadowed but that opening scene in the firehouse may have been THE funniest scene in the whole show. Local fire captain desperately tries to corral his children employees and get them to pay attention for one (1) minute, fails, doesn't even get to tell them about the moderate marine layer 😔

call me delusional but I absolutely haven't closed on the couch theory yet. for one it makes sense for them to present a seemable wrap-up to it if they thought it was gonna be the series finale because it was such a big part of his arc this season so it would feel very unfulfilled if they hadn't (and they couldnt do it with eddie and christopher either because that would be such a clear signal that buddie is happening and that would not have worked at all if they got cancelled). but also, considering this started with him realizing all his couches came with girlfriends and that he needs to learn to be at peace by himself, this is a very shallow wrap-up that does not encompass the entire metaphor and could reasonably reopen it in s7. also hehe notice how both buck and eddies ending scenes were about/on the couch

Ok so I'm not even upset that the couch metaphor wasn't about Eddie. But I am a little upset that they did all that work with the symbolism of the couch and how Buck needed to find his own agency, only to then turn around and tie it back into yet another person outside of Buck himself. Make it make sense
