Gale’s camp tunic is DONE!! Just under 200 (196) hours of hand embroidery on this piece and I’m so proud of how it turned out.

All that’s left is to finish the detail stitching on the trousers, so I can say with fair confidence that I’ll be bringing this along to Katsucon in Feb 👍 After over a year of working on this cosplay, the end is truly in sight!

thinking about the way morgott has all these interesting titles, maybe the most out of the demigods - the veiled monarch, the grace-given lord, lord of leyndell, etc. - culminating in our final confrontation with him at the elden throne, where he claims his most impressive title yet, calling himself “king morgott, last of all kings”

and then his hp bar reads “morgott the omen king”

it’s the closest the game’s ui has ever come to being the narrator from arrested development

morgott in general is such a good character though

the order shuns him and he responds by loving that order in degrees proportional to his own self-hatred. he wields his status as outsider to fill a necessary but distasteful societal role (killing would-be lord contenders) without ever embracing that role, to the point where he takes on a different name to carry it out

he defends the capital and takes on the ultimate honor of lord of leyndell, not because he thinks he deserves it, but because he feels that all his siblings have betrayed their birthright, and so their duty falls to him, even though his very blood disgraces the throne he guards. despite all this, he tries to enter the erdtree and become lord. “he loved not in return, for he was never loved, but love it he did” is top 10 heartbreaking lines in the game.

and, most importantly, the guy is SUCH a dick

also important to note that while he’s doing all that, mohg is living his best life making friends and doing disney villain shit, which is such a real portrayal of the dichotomy between siblings

implied situation is that you are not their main enemy they are actively hunting down, but they do hate you and everything you stand for and they will take opportunities that come up to ruin your life and/or kill you if that’s their style. “you” in this scenario are someone they have clear, true, and from their perspective justified reasons to despise. however, you can factor in how easy it might be to convince them to change their mind about someone, if you think that’s possible or relevant. as always, if you have multiple of each protagonist just pick a set, we don’t have all day
