finally have a little sample of what i have been working on...obviously needs a lot of cleanup but gives an idea of the general aesthetic im looking for. thinking about what to do with the grease pencil linework/stroke noise, it seems to flicker even on stationary objects like the road. well see how it goes

a little thunderdome challenge forced me to get off my ass and make some art finally. Theme was “Voyage”, blimp with a face obviously inspired by the great umamis magnum opus “Interface”.

Really enjoyed making this. Only caveat I want to learn more about freestyle, or how to make a consistent NPR style. The issue with freestyle is I still don’t really understand how to get it to use a brush alpha, and if I can get it to apply to things “without form”, like the clouds etc. But I feel like I’m getting closer to developing the type of style I want for Aspala.
