i think myhouse.wad is awesome and very well constructed, but that it is kind of ground zero for the house of leaves (i'm not doing the bit fuck you we're talking about art) revival kind of shifts the focus around, not unlike the way youtubers shift the focus around to the point where people think DEVICE_FRIEND is real, and not a collective hallucination. a similar thing happened with homestuck back in the day, a lot of people understood homestuck primarily as a means of generating new octopimp comic dub videos (myself included! i was 16 at the peak of homestuck fandom and not equipped to understand it)

i don't know if there's any way to make this not the case, i think this kind of activity is generally pretty bad for art and avoiding being octopimp or matpat or any given person who knows anything about deltarune friend whatsoever is the kind of thing i am actively keeping in mind as a writer whose trade is primarily fan work right now
