I was incredibly disappointed with my experience at the Virginia Fantasy Fair. For an event of this scale, the lack of basic infrastructure and organization was shocking.
Zero Accessibility: The event was not handicap accessible in any way. Navigating the grounds was a nightmare, and it felt like no thought was given to guests with mobility issues.
Poor Navigation: Finding the festival was a chore. There were no signs directing traffic in or out, making the entrance and exit extremely confusing.
Construction Hazards: Most surprisingly, there was active construction being performed during business hours right where guests were walking. It felt unprofessional and unsafe.
Safety Issues: The perimeter is not properly secured or blocked off from the public. I saw people wandering off into the woods, which is a massive liability and creates a very uneasy atmosphere for families.
Organizational Failures: Beyond the physical site issues, the "behind the scenes" talk from several vendors was disheartening. Multiple sellers mentioned that the organizer failed to deliver on prior promises, and that lack of integrity really showed in the final product.
I cannot recommend this event until they prioritize guest safety, basic signage, and ADA compliance. Save your money and go to a fair that actually respects its patrons and vendors.
