A bit of hope on a Sunday afternoon. A bit of writing to quiet my mind. A bit of you to push me off the edge. I remember I had wanted to paint the sky a different colour everytime it rained, even when I was a kid. I remember thinking where the birds would go when the rain poured down, I remember how I had a library card since I was 12, I remember them, I remember so much... but days cannot be all sunny and bright and daisies and sunflowers and roses. I never miss places cause I don't miss the people there, as much as I like going down memory lane, I don't necessarily want them back, nor do I wish to go back and change the circumstances or situations. I'm not saying my life is so perfect that I don't want to change a thing, but that as imperfect as my life had been, as it still is, I'm grateful for the people I met, for the blessing and lesson they've become. I am thankful for these experiences that had made me taste the sweet taste of frienship, trust, hope, happiness and also the bitter goodbyes and broken dreams. I am thankful not because they are all pleasant but because while some people will only see one side of the moon, I feel like I'm an astronaut who had been chosen to see its darker side. . . Nowadays, love seems to be just another word, used too many times, even by people who don't know what it takes to love another. Love is now a game of who breaks with who first, who gets over the relationship faster, who gets another lover quicker and maybe who's new lover is better. It seems we have forgotten the magic of love, the power it holds, the stories through which it shows its true colours. Now love is a colour, red for one, something dangerous, something to be scared of. Then, blue for another, something sad, something that brings tears. But I believe love has no particular colour and I believe it makes everything clearer, and I think its the human nature that to understand something, you gotta know it through and through, which has made love too defineable, too limited and not enough for the people in love. . . Even after all the pain I suffered because I thought I loved you, I cannot blame you nor could I find fault with you. Its the memories that's killing me, its the songs we listened that makes me clutch my knees as if it were actually breaking me apart, but it does, your smile hasn't changed from these pictures but the boy in it is far too different now. Love will have varying meanings depending on the people but mine is your name, your lips, your eyes, your smile, love is you. There's an old shoebox beneath my bed, I keep your photographs, your awful handwriting, the notes I decided not to send to you, letters that are addressed to you and a journal I kept while you were still a part of my life. I keep it to remind myself that if I ever come across another soul who was as patient to hear me out, who was as kind not to laugh at my seriously delusional views on life, who was as brave not to run away when my storms could've break their bones, I will not let them slip away anymore. I promised myself that as trying or as difficult as that relationship gets, I was going to keep them, no matter how much my heart had to endure. I made the mistake once, I've learned my lesson, I just hope I don't mess it up this time. .
